Despite all our protestations, apparently Tesco "Customer Focus Groups" have decided that all English products must in future be marked "British" - whilst Scots and Welsh products continue to be marked as "Scots" and "Welsh". The "focus groups" stuff is all my eye and Betty Martin - there is obviously a great deal of feeling in England that English products should be labelled as... er... English. Kinda makes sense, doesn't it?
Tesco - your contempt for us is breathtaking!

“Yes, in the very near future, our butter will be labelled as British butter – and of course we will keep the Union flag to make it all consistent”....
