This blog is not right wing or left wing. It is old style Socialist, true Socialist, and simply points out the facts regarding asymmetric national devolution, which is based on Edward Lhuyd's 1707 'Celtic' labelling of certain languages and historical revisionism, and how it disadvantages ALL people in the largest and most ethnically diverse UK country of all - England.

1960s Spiderman Theme Skit
Kev wrote...
The other day I watched the Simpson's movie and very enjoyable it was to, but I cannot get the song Homer was singing out of my mind.
It was Spider pig does everything a spider pig does to the theme tune of the old Spiderman TV series of the 70's just so funny.
Homer Simpson is the best character in the Simpson's.
But, like so many things touted as "70s", the Spiderman theme was 1960s - dating from 1967. The series actually ended in 1970.
It's Sooo nice to write a post that isn't about the need for an EP!
Hope you don't mind, Kev!

BBC: Chris Hoy Scottish, Scot, Scottish - OOOHHH!! But Not British, Brit, British...
Praise has been heaped on Scottish cyclist Chris Hoy after he won gold in the men's cycling team sprint at the Beijing Olympics.
Hoy, from Edinburgh, Scot anchored the three man squad to victory.
Scottish Deputy first minister Nicola Sturgeon said his success was an inspiration to everyone in Scotland.
Scottish Cycling chief executive Jackie Davidson said it was phenomenal.
No mention of Britain/British/Brit at all - and the "Scot anchored" thing is ridiculous.
But the BBC did tell us on another page:
He now lives in Salford, Greater Manchester, enabling him to practice with his British team-mates at the city's velodrome.
So Chris Hoy is Scottish, not British.
And as for the English? Of course, in the BBC and UK Government's universe they - and England itself - simply do not exist.
Doug Jamieson - Come On Down, Little Scotlander - Wouldn't Think Yourself A Celt As Well, Would You?
Here's dear old heavily subsidised spoilt brat nation Wales flying its own flag - not the British one - for its returning atheletes. What really annoys me is that if Wales wasn't being subsidised by England via the UK Government it might have other things to think about than all this flag waving and insulting the English - like survival as a real nation!Meanwhile, the BBC lets a Little Scotlander and probably a Celt fantasist have a say on the proceedings:
Among the crowd were visitors from further afield.
Doug Jamieson, 59, and his wife Jen, 60, from Edinburgh were visiting their friend Ada Stein, 93, in Cardiff.
Mr Jamieson said: "The Olympics is a marvellous achievement for the small countries of Scotland and Wales.
"They have all done so very well and it's not right to pick out one in particular. They have all tried their very best."
He said: "it is a breath of fresh air in a dreich (miserable) summer.
Cosy up, dear - I suppose you feel some sense of fraternity to your fellow fantasy Celts - and of course you don't even mention England!
And "dreich" - oh please, my Mum's Mum used to say that - but I thought it went out with the ark!
Talk about "over-egging the pudding" - trying to over-Scot yourself a little for the Beeb, weren't you?
Mind you, it says a lot for the BBC Wales news writers that they do this sort of thing at all - seek out somebody from a fellow "Celtic nation" specially - when it could have been anybody from anywhere who just happened to be visiting Wales!
YUCK!!
It's crap like this from the BBC (and Wales) which convinces me that the Union needs abolishing. These proud little "nations" need to find their own way.
And good luck to 'em. I'm sure they'll do it. And at least then I won't feel like vomiting every time there's a "proud" display of Welsh nationalism because that country's claws are digging deep into my pockets and its citizens are being treated as an elite.
Whilst in England it's a case of "Anyone For Health Apartheid?"
Meanwhile, the BBC is obviously very selective about what it says and photographs in England - as Matthew and Noelle Stallard, parents of rower Tom Stallard, sit there with a Union Flag, on their knees and witter on about being "proud to be British" and how great the 2012 Olympics will be. The Stallards are just the sort of ill-informeds the BBC adores:
Mrs Stallard added: "Loads of people we know have changed their attitude already to 2012.
"They say they feel proud to be British. I think everybody is now beginning to feel excited by the 2012 idea."
Care to quantify that, Mrs Stallard? And as for sitting there with the Union Flag - words fail me. Well, actually they don't. But I don't want to become offensive.
Mr and Mrs Stallard don the butcher's apron. Ohh we're British, ooh everybody's so excited about the Olympics... Yeah, right!!Monday, August 25, 2008
Petition For A Referendum On The Lisbon Treaty: The Twisted UK Government Responds - And The Devil's Kitchen Responds To The Response...
Sometimes we feel tired. Tired of fighting for justice, tired of trying to get "our" Government to honour its promises and act in any way democratically. The UK Government has just responded to the petition for a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty, which New Labour promised us would take place, and our no-mandate Prime Minister Gordon Brown then went ahead and signed without consulting the electorate at all.
The most ridiculous part of it all is this dispicable Government quoting the fact that a referendum took place on the EEC in 1975, when we were already a member. The EEC was not the EU, simply a forerunner, a very different beast indeed, and it seems politicians were lying through their teeth even way back then. We were told back then that membership of the EEC would not lead to the current scenario.
The reply just received is not unexpected. But it is sickening. Full of lies and self serving nonsense. The UK Government is a corrupt, undemocratic shit of an organisation. The Devil's Kitchen puts it better than we can here.

Gordon Brown Insults England About Football's Origins And Then Rubs Salt In The Wound...
Sir Alex Ferguson - "Can the Scot lead the united home nations to gold in 2012?" writes some daft wally at Sky News.As reported earlier, no-mandate PM Gordon Brown stole England's footballing origins and gave them to "Britain" yesterday, and now he wants to appoint a fellow Scot as manager of his "British" football team to compete in the 20012 Olympics!
Good grief - this man really does hate England and the English, doesn't he?
Still, the public gets what the public wants - and the resounding lack of noise over far more serious issues like health apartheid makes me think that Mr Brown will get his way - and there'll hardly be a murmur of protest.
"I'm English, kick me..."
UPDATE:
Quote From The Sky News Comments Thread...
Ferguson? Brown has got to be joking! Remember how Ferguson coached foreign teams in order to get England knocked out of the World Cup!
We say: But that was England. If Brown has his way, England will soon be history.

Arrogant Unionist/Scots Bigot Insult: Britain (Not England) Is The Home Of Football - Gordon Brown
What a liar! England gave football to the world - not Britain. And Gordon Brown is just one slimy Scottish politician who signed the Scottish Claim Of Right in the 1980s, promising to put Scottish interests first in everything he does! Submerging England as "Britain" and denying us our achievements shows that Mr Brown still has that agenda very much in mind.
As for what Gordon Brown personally has given to the world... well, pass the sick bucket!
Big hat tip to Britology Watch.
The Triumphant Return Of "Britishness": Olympics Outfits In (Mainly) Saltire Colours And I'm Doing It For Wales...
"I'm really proud of Wales' achievements at this Olympics. It looks to become an incredibly memorable Games for a proud sporting nation and I want to be a part of that."
Only the English atheletes, politically apathetic and ignorant like so many, and fed a load of horse shit for donkey's years, towed the "British" line.
The Olympics are not going to serve to flag up a corrupt, self-serving institution like the UK and its Government, which creates elites on grounds of nationality and actively practices apartheid against the vast majority.
Here's the delectable Chris Hoy, dressed in a fetchingly 1980s high camp cycling outfit which seems to feature an awful lot of blue and white. Rather like the Scottish Saltire and not very like the Union Flag at all. There is a thin band of red there somewhere - is for that Northern Ireland? Where is the thick red band for England? Shouldn't that be in the space occupied by the words "Great Britain"? Who designed these "Team GB" outfits? English hating Scots or Welsh person or English hating English person?

The BBC And The Welsh At The Olympics - The Welsh Really Are Not British
"Just call that lot from England 'British'", says the BBC. "Bloody rabble. That's one country we simply WILL NOT recognise..."
"But here's a Welshman. He's Welsh! From Wales! Pure and strong and noble..." - the BBC goes overboard for David Davies and the Welsh, Welshness, Wales, etc, etc...
The BBC is still at it - flagging up to the Welsh (and Scots) and calling only the English "British" at the Olympics.
Swimmer David Davies has added to Wales' best Olympics medal tally for 88 years by winning silver in the 10km open-water swim.
Davies, 23, led for most of the race only be overhauled by Dutchman Maarten van der Weijden, who finished 1.5 seconds ahead in one hour 59.6 seconds. "It's going to take a while for it to sink in, but it's a proud moment for me," said the Welshman.
"I like swimming from the front, but the final section was a blur."
Davies took an early lead, but could not hold on against the Dutchman's late challenge.
The Welshman's was Britain's third open-water medal after Keri Anne-Payne and Cassie Patten won silver and bronze respectively in the women's race.
Davies' efforts ensured Wales had another Olympic hero to toast amid the Great Britain Beijing gold-rush sparked by cyclist Nicole Cooke.
And swimmer David Davies is so proud of Wales. "I'm really proud of Wales' achievements at this Olympics. It looks to become an incredibly memorable Games for a proud sporting nation and I want to be a part of that."
But Wales is not competing as a nation. Nor even as Wales, come to that.
And the BBC headline reads: Davies Extends Welsh Medal Haul. So he's really not British? And Wales is competing in the Olympics and has done so for years?
Wales won four golds in 1920 as Paulo Radmilovic and Christopher Jones were part of the victorious water polo team while Cecil Griffiths and John Ainsworth-Davies were in the 4x400m team that won gold.
Reality check - surely WALES hasn't won anything in the Olympics? Surely it's Team GB? Proud to be British and all that baloney? The same stuff we English are force fed?
But the BBC goes on (and on), celebrating "Wales' Olympic Roll Of Honour".
How come?
ITN also calls Davies a Welshman - apparently he behaved in a very... er... Welsh way. Well, it can't be British, can it? Davies is Welsh. Only the English are British.
The Welshman was talking to the press about his performance when an official tried to guide him towards his medal ceremony.
Davies turned to the official and said: "Will you shut up, please!"
But the official continued to interrupt Davies, who threw the contents of his water bottle at her.
Oh dear. Perhaps she was English, er, I mean British?

The BBC Again: The England Football Team And The Scots' Football Team...
Sadly, it's more vapid than ever (the other week a DJ was excited because somebody had brought some jelly beans into the studio - "I LOVE jelly beans!" she shrieked) but, oddly enough, the news bulletins are still called "News Beat" - just as they were in the 60s/70s/80s!
Anyway, today I heard the sports chappie telling listeners all about the latest goings on in the world of football. The England team (bunch of Nivea boys that they are) had lost. Of course, the presenter couldn't avoid saying "England" in this instance, but he never said "English". Then it was off North of The Border: "The Scots didn't win this one," he trilled.
I see. So there's an England football team (NEVER English) probably containing "Britons" but Scotland has a football team containing "Scots"?
Another example of BBC anti-English bias and Scots bottom licking, IMHO.
The BBC...
I don't bother much with blog stats, but sometimes I'm glad I did. It was great to see that the BBC spent more than three minutes looking at my post about the disgraceful anti-English bias shown by those reporting the Olympics. Not that it's the first time Auntie has been here or, I know, to other similar blogs and websites. Auntie knows there's a problem. But the fact is she persistently ignores it and carries on regardless. So may I suggest the above logo would be an honest declaration of BBC attitudes and that they adopt it forewith?
Poynton - Let's Change Our Flag To The Union Flag - We'll Be Just Like The BNP Then...
Hate to publish this logo... but it makes my point...A recent story I've just discovered - apparently Poynton Civic Hall nearly swapped its St George's Flag for a Union Flag recently, you know, the same design as the British National Party's logo and emblem.
However, Poynton councillors, like so many other folk, seem to be on something which muddles the mind when it comes to the Cross of St George...
THE Cross of St George will remain above Poynton Civic Hall - despite calls for it to be scrapped in favour of the Union Flag.
The issue was raised at the Parks, Buildings and Highways Committee meeting of the Poynton With Worth Parish Council, held last week, where it was decided to replace the hall’s flag - at a cost of around £50 - because according to some ‘it was beginning to look old and tatty’.
While the Cross of St George has flown above the hall in the past, there was a suggestion that the flag should be swapped for a Union Flag - the Union Jack - because the St George’s Cross has in the past been used as a symbol for the British National Party, a link that has seen it removed from some public buildings.
But such a move was strongly opposed by Councillor Howard Murray, who pointed to the fact that the Union Flag should only be flown above civic buildings on 13 days during the year, mainly royal birthdays.
He added that Poynton Parish Council would not be breaking with tradition for the sake of political correctness.
“In the past the far right has taken over the Cross of St George but the flag should be given back to the people,” said Coun Murray.
“Those who are offended by the flag can stay offended because the fact of the matter is, that by convention it is the Cross of St George that flies above civic buildings a majority of the time.”
Er, as far as I know the BNP have always sported the Union Flag - with the sub-national flags of each UK nation sometimes draped around it. However, up until the 1990s it was bloody hard to buy a St George's flag in England anyway.
Why do these people talk such crap? What addles them?
The Cross of St George is a persecuted emblem simply because it suits those in power to deny England recognition and a national parliament. So, the English, England, and its national flag are demonised at every opportunity.
What do they take us for?
No need to answer that...
Meanwhile, the Scots flag, with its Klu Klux Klan associations, flutters unremarked upon. And the Scots, of course, are pure Celts, living in a pure Celtic nation...
Pass the sick bucket...
Hat-tip to the CEP News Blog - and I pinched your illustration, Wonko - hope you don't mind. xx
The BBC: Not Only The British Took Part In The Olympics For The UK: There Were Scots And Welsh People Too - But No English!
Mike Knowles of the Campaign For An English Parliament, states in a press release:
"In its CEEFAX August 19th bulletin, the BBC described Chris Hoy the triple gold medalist as 'the Scot'. On one occasion as 'the flying Scotsman'.However, it described Victoria Pendleton the triumphant women's sprint cyclist Olympic champion from Bedfordshire and Christine Ohuruogo the 400 metre gold medalist from London as 'Britons', not once as English. In the first week of the Games both BBC reporters and BBC CEEFAX described Nicole Cook who took the first gold medal for the British team as Welsh, even as 'the Welsh Princess' but Rebecca Adlington who achieved two gold medals in swimming only as 'British', never English.'
'What we are witnessing, and consistently witnessing,' stated Mr Knowles 'is BBC bias against England and the English people. The BBC will do all it can not to bring attention to the national identity of English people. The BBC is acting very politically. Its refusal to have a BBC England and substituting nine regional broadcasting units for England is political. It regards acknowledgement of England's distinct identity as a threat to the existence of the United Kingdom. It is not a threat. And the BBC has no right within its charter to act in such a pronounced political manner. The BBC has organised itself as a broadcaster into 'nations and regions'. The 'nations' are Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, the distinct national identity of which it recognises and promotes. It refuses to recognises England as a nation. It treats England as nine regions. It will not recognise our distinct English identity. All this is political.'
'The BBC should not discriminate against England. It should not act politically. It should report impartially and fairly. If in reporting on TeamGB it makes mention of the specific national identity of Welsh and Scottish athletes, it should make mention likewise of the English identity of English athletes.'
Exactly. Anything else is absurd. Absurdly anti-English, that is.

David Cameron - He'll Mend Our Broken Society, But Don't Expect Equal Funding, OK, You Sour Little Englanders?
But it's all words. All crap. David Cameron's government actively backs murder in England by refusing to stand up for the electorate on the health apartheid issue. The most you will get from the Tories is reference to a "postcode lottery" regarding health - as though it was a problem affecting the UK as a whole. The fact that Scotland and Wales receive far higher funding via the Barnett Formula is always ignored. Or played down to such an extent you would think it didn't really matter. Meanwhile, "British" Cameron bangs on about "a Scottish Empire" and having ancestors who were involved in the same.
The democratic rights of the people of England matter not a jot to him. And he also tells lies about the EU.
The man is so far removed from modern day England - or Britain for that matter - such a heartless spinner of pap, that he takes my breath away.
Thatcher said there was no such thing as society - people were too dependent on the State in her view. She stated that the country was made up of families and individuals - first you must help yourself then your neighbour. Governments could only act through people. That was the full gist of her 1987 interview, reproduced below.
"I think we've been through a period where too many people have been given to understand that if they have a problem, it's the government's job to cope with it. 'I have a problem, I'll get a grant.' 'I'm homeless, the government must house me.' They're casting their problem on society. And, you know, there is no such thing as society. There are individual men and women, and there are families. And no government can do anything except through people, and people must look to themselves first. It's our duty to look after ourselves and then, also to look after our neighbour. People have got the entitlements too much in mind, without the obligations. There's no such thing as entitlement, unless someone has first met an obligation."
I remember reading some old guru writing on a similar theme in the 1960s: "Tend at least your own garden. When it is without weeds, then help your neighbour".
Of course I disagreed with Thatcher. But not half as much as I disagree with the lying, twisted, self-serving anti-English/England politicians of the current day.

Kev Asks The BBC: Are You Discriminating Against The English? WENAP Answers: Do Bears Shit In Woods?
As usual.
So, Kev has written to Auntie:
The lack of consistency, with the BBC Olympic coverage is highlighted by the fact with the above page about the British cycling team winning gold with the fact that the Scottish rider is identified as being Scottish but the two English riders are not identified as being English.
This also happened with the Welsh lady winning the first British gold medal at these games being identified as being Welsh whilst the English swimmer who won the second gold medal at these games was not identified as being English.
Please stop this discrimination against the English athletes.
Good luck, Kev - hope you receive a reply worth reading. But don't hold your breath. The BBC hates England and any notion of Englishness, and whilst we HAVE to pay the licence fee, no effort will be made to represent the UK nations fairly.
It's all part of living in our wonderful democracy.
And remember, the BBC had no problem in subsituting "English" for "British" in a DR WHO episode a few weeks ago. Bigoted BBC WALES gleefully altered the phrase "Britain For The British" to "England For The English" in an attempt to smear the English as racists.

Coming Back One Day Soon...
I have become very despondent about the whole issue of parity for England, and the rapidly progressing and highly undemocratic EU project which makes everything so much more difficult, but I am beginning to get my act together and think that I will start writing on here again in the not too distant future.
In the words of Wyrdtimes, "Every little helps..."
I'm not going to be writing anything just yet, but today I'm off to catch up on Tommy English, Toque, The Blog Of Kev, The England Project and Wonko's World - to name but a few.
Thanks again.

Goodbye - At Least For Now
The Celts Were White, Thatcher Was Yonks Ago, There's No Excuse...
Here we go...
1) Suggestions around the blogosphere that the Scots had a bloody awful time under Thatcher, so somehow health apartheid, the West Lothian Question, etc are justified. Well, I think Thatcher was a cow - but the fact is it doesn't matter - the 1980s were such bloody yonks ago it doesn't matter if she was twenty cows - and there was such an uproar then I don't know quite what went on or how the Scots were affected. I do know that the 1970s were no bowl of cherries at the time, and that harping on about how the "70s were great" and the "80s were evil" really pisses me off.
And, whatever happened, it's no justification for now. We never had health apartheid then.
2) The "Celtic" thing: many English bloggers are keen on calling the Scots, Welsh and sometimes the "Cornish" "Celts". That's crap. There's doubt that the Celts ever actually got here en masse, but, even if they did, to suggest that certain UK nations are white and ethnically pure is bloody racist. I also abhor the way some Scots, Welsh and "Cornish" bloggers use the "Celtic" crap to try and gang up against the English and to proclaim themselves longer standing inhabitants of this island and to suggest they have more "right" here. It's racism, pure and simple. The "Celt" thing needs challenging.
It's no better than the BNP.
3) It pisses me off that the so-called "Union" is considered so important by the likes of the CEP. People at the bottom of the economic heap in England are having a particularly bad time, we're the ones must affected by the UK Government's anti-English stance. Stuff the "Union"!!
4) Boiling under... CCTV cameras, the DNA Database, Community Police Officers, apathetic smug twats all around me, the BBC, Radio One - more vapid than it was in the Simon Bates era, Radio Two - more vapid than in the Jimmy Young era, people watching TV soaps with sick story lines to get their jollies, people watching Big Brother to get their jollies...
I've just had a gutful. I don't think this blog is going any where, I don't think the campaign to gain parity for England is going anywhere, and I feel like I'm banging my head against a brick wall.
I HAVE HAD ENOUGH!!!

Closedown...
I'm sick to bloody death of the namby pamby attitude of the likes of the CEP.
I'm sick to bloody death of the way certain English bloggers pander to Scots and Welsh racists by backing the myths that they are "Celts" and that their nations are "Celtic". So, you mean WHITE do you? - because that's what Celts are/were.
England has still got its head stuck up its own arse.
We're going nowhere.
Fast.

Alan Duncan - Ignoring England, Backing Regionalisation...
EVERY economy has its regional differences. From the prosperity of the wool industry in the 18th century West Country, to the smooth production lines of the Midlands in the 20th, certain English regions have often been immediately identifiable with certain trades. So says Alan Duncan, Shadow Trade Secretary.
So, England has always had regions, has it Mr Duncan?
He continues:
But dig a little deeper and the picture becomes much more complex. Yorkshire's industrial past has been extraordinarily varied: textiles from West Riding, steel from Sheffield, coal from Doncaster.
But isn't Yorkshire a COUNTY?
He then goes on a lot about the "UK":
But we still need to do more to target areas of the UK that are failing to keep pace with the rest of the country.
The UK - a country? Surely it's a Union of countries? And aren't the RDA's he discusses only in England?
When last I looked, the Tories were opposed to the regional project. So what's going on now? And is Alan Duncan very educated on his subject matter?
No Democracy In England - Nuclear Power Stations, A New Generation...
Nicked from Waking Hereward - with thanks! Here's how it works. Our non-elected, no mandate PM, who represents a constituency in Scotland which won't be having any new nuclear power stations, but will use power from those in England, has told us we MUST have a whole fleet of new nuclear power stations in England.
If you want them, fine - if not, TOUGH, because the Scottish Raj denies you a voice. Even planning procedures have been "streamlined" so that protests can be ignored.
That's how things stand under the Scottish Raj today in England.
Waking Hereward has more.

Ginsters Of Cornwall - Another Anti-English Company Banned From The Weekly Shop!
Today we're totally banning another anti-English company - Ginsters of Cornwall, who make pasties, sandwiches, etc, from our fridge and cupboards. Personally, I have to watch my middle-aged tum so don't indulge, but my wife was always slightly partial to Ginsters. Not any more. Ginsters - with your Cornish flag display on each of your products - you are BANNED.
Why is this? Well, regular readers of this blog will know that we favour a referendum for Cornwall on the subject of whether it's part of England or not. Until then, companies like Ginsters could at least refrain from featuring national flags (unless it is British) on their products, or pleasing all by featuring both English and Cornish flags. We have friends in Cornwall who regard themselves as English and Cornwall as part of England. And until a referendum decides otherwise, it is.
Regular readers will also know that we are fiercely opposed to the racist and fake notion that the people of Cornwall are "pure Celts" - which lays behind quite a lot of this flg waving. It's insular racism, pure and simple.
So goodbye, Ginsters - be "Cornish" if you want to be, but as we are English, don't expect us to have any loyalty to your products.

The NHS - Infected By An Anti-English Disease Curtesy Of The Scottish Raj
Doctors have urged England to follow Scotland's example in avoiding the use of the private sector and competition in the NHS.
British Medical Association chairman Dr Hamish Meldrum said the health service in England was being run like a "shoddy supermarket war".
Doctors at the BMA's annual conference voted for the NHS in England to only use private firms as a last resort.
Officials said the private sector was only used when it could improve care.
Ministers have tried to create an NHS market by using the private sector and encouraging hospitals to compete for patients. About one in 10 elective operations are now done by private providers.
Meanwhile, successive administrations in Scotland have preferred to use private health firms only as a last resort when the NHS cannot provide the treatment.
England's approach has led to quicker progress on waiting times with hospitals closing in on an 18-week waiting target by the end of the year compared to the deadline of 2011 in Scotland.
But Dr Meldrum, who was born and trained as a doctor in Edinburgh, suggested the market reforms were an "English disease" which had not improved quality or efficiency, and fragmented services.
An "English disease"? Surely that's a little rich, considering that Gordon Brown, PM, represents a Scots constituency, that Foundation Hospitals were foisted on England by MPs representing Scots constituencies and that the Barnett Formula ensures more funding for the Scottish NHS than the English NHS? Dr Meldrum, surely an educated man, seems to be carefully avoiding stating certain very pertinent facts.
Sadly, Dr Meldrum seems unable to avoid the instinctive Scottish habit of taking a swipe at the English, when the reality is that the current state of affairs is largely being created by biased and uncaring Scots politicians, wreaking havoc in England.
In an article featured on the CEP News Blog, Dr Meldrum displays disturbing elements of racism: “Devolution has always been portrayed as the three Celtic nations breaking away from England. In the case of the NHS, it’s been the other way round. England has broken away from the rest of the UK.”
"Three Celtic nations"? Northern Ireland is a province, not a nation, and surely being full citizens of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland does not depend on being white and bigotedly deluded about your origins?
Is this man really fit to be head of the BMA?

Wonko Gets A Load Of Old Claptrap From Anti-English Welsh Auntie BBC Regarding Dr Who...
"Stiff upper lip, chaps! Remember you're ... er... English!"I wrote to Auntie Beeb regarding the bile-filled slur on the English in a recent episode of Dr Who and heard nothing back. Perhaps it was because I pointed them to my original blog article on the subject and informed them that any replies from them would be published.
But Wonko has been... er... luckier. Auntie Beeb has favoured him with a load of claptrap which does not address the issue at all: how, in a programme which religiously refers to "Britain" and "British" are the English suddenly singled out when it comes to pointing the finger of negativity?
The letter as it appears at Wonko's World:
I was sorry to hear that you were not happy with Episode 11 of ‘Doctor Who’, which was broadcast on 21 June 2008.
I can assure you there was no agenda in either the development or execution of this episode to besmirch the English or promote any kind of anti-English agenda. We wanted to look at the kind of world that might have been created, within the universe of Doctor Who, should the Doctor and Donna have never met. Within that story, England endures catastrophic events, ranging from closed borders, housing, and food and fuel shortages to nuclear holocaust. Within this landscape, the global economy has collapsed, America cannot send aid and the Earth is facing extinction. Within those extreme circumstances, it is very possible to suggest that a nation would begin to turn inward looking and seek to isolate those it considers to be foreign. In the episode, France has likewise closed its own borders. We may not like the behaviour of the nations in this moment - certainly not - but it is a truthful proposition within the story we’re telling.
The reason I believe the series is loved by so many families, is that the stories encourage children to examine the world around them. It allows them, within a safe, fictional world, where they can hold the Doctor or Donna’s hand, to feel loneliness, fear and sadness. Mr Colosanto’s removal to a labour camp does have echoes of events in the Second World War, but within the parameters we set for 7pm Saturday night and within the story we’re telling, that is surely no bad thing.
‘Doctor Who’ is written, directed and edited for a family audience to enjoy. The production complies with stringent editorial policy processes within the BBC. Decisions are made carefully, across every episode, about how far to show human suffering or danger. These decisions are made at script stage, on the production floor and in the edit. Nothing said or shown in the Episode failed to comply with our editorial standard policies or troubled our judgement, as producers, within the rigorous parameters we set in making the series.
Thank you for taking the time to contact the BBC with your concerns.
Yours sincerely
Julie Gardner
Executive Producer, Doctor Who
As Wonko points out, it's one of those cut and paste jobbies, sent out en masse and it does not answer the original question: why was "English" suddenly subsituted for "British" in a programme normally awash with "Britishness" when it came to a nasty bit of finger pointing? And remember the original book title was "BRITAIN FOR THE BRITISH". This was consciously altered by the Beeb.
Also, how come England is suddenly a nation? The BBC usually refers to the "nations and regions of the UK", echoing Gordon Brown's mantra, with the "nations" being Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and the regions being the country formally known as England. There are also occasional references to the UK or "Britain" as a nation, but NEVER England alone.
Wonko says he's getting on the blower to Auntie tomorrow. Go for it!
Auntie trying to taint innocent young minds with her anti-English venom is simply not on.
Meanwhile, it strikes me that there was a bit of an OTT interest in who will be the new Doctor on the political blogosphere last night. Grow up, boys. Keep it for the playground, eh?

Why Won't David Cameron Speak Up For England?
There are votes waiting to fall in his lap, huge wrongs to be righted - we have never lived in a so-called United Kingdom where health apartheid runs rampant for instance - but all David Cameron does is tell us how important the "Union" is. And Ken Clarke's Democracy Task Force proposals solve absolutely nothing. So why won't David Cameron speak up for England?
And politicians are elected (or not, in some cases) to safeguard our freedoms and basically be caretakers of our parliamentary system. So why does David Cameron make half-hearted bleats about the huge freebie give away of our government to the EU and then accuse detractors of "banging on about Europe"?
The 1970s - Let's Make Them Seem Important...
What was the seventies like ? a question posed by my sixteen year old. Well a time of political and industrial turmoil, but at least the political classes were turning their fire on each other Left against Right, Trades Unions against big business, and we were relatively free. Once the Trades Unions were defeated by Thatcher, by the late eighties/early nineties the State started directing its fire against the people, until as my son said 'The Man is on everybodies back'.
Other benefits of the Seventies...
Hmm. "Political and industrial turmoil" - surely that was far more prevalent in the 1980s? As for "benefits" of the 1970s... well, Bowie began his chart career in 1969 and was clearly going places then, so I don't see any. There were left-over 1960s fashions. Rampant inflation. Power cuts. A sense of grey trudging. Punk reflecting the anger and hopelessness of the era. Retro 1950s fashions... retro 1930s fashions, like platform shoes... 50s and 60s music revivals - and a ragbag of 60s hippie leftovers infesting our record player turntables.
The Unions and the bosses had gone too far - the Unions no longer seemed to be about the dignity of the workers. It was battle for battle's sake in the 1970s. I remember cases of workers striking because they couldn't keep cats on the premises as staff pets! I felt that the workers really wanted to be like the bosses. I hated that.
And it was very much State against the people. According to my reckoning the referendum on the EU (or "Common Market" as it was called then) was not handled honestly. In fact, the whole of our entry into the EEC, with Ted Heath reassuring the electorate that entry would mean no loss of sovereignty (he admitted in more recent years that he knew it would) would have done credit to today's politicians. Our entry into the Common Market was something that was a genuine 1970s innovation. But I won't celebrate it.
The election of Margaret Thatcher in 1979 was, of course, in retrospect, highly important. But if Ronald Reagan hadn't been elected American President in 1980, I don't think she would have survived beyond the "Falklands Factor" of 1982/1983.
I don't think Looking For A Voice and I lived through the same 1970s.
As for sixteen year old posing questions like "what were the 70s like?" that worries me. A lot of it seems to come from pure hyping of the decade - like the BBC's "I Love..." series, which poured 60s and 80s pop culture into the 70s, and basically did an awful lot of bullshitting. There are far more interesting decades to enquire about, surely?
Mind you, I collect newspapers from the 1970s. They put me off rewriting it as too important - or indeed that memorable. Now, if you're talking about the 1960s or the 1980s - that's different. The 70s were simply a sore foot shambles between the two.

Police Harassment In Henley - National Flag Of England Is Not Allowed...
From The Brussels Journal:
Threats of prosecution or fines for flying the England flag in England is not new, and perhaps it should come as no surprise, then, that the English Democrats party – which uses the flag in its promotional material – is reporting that it has become a target of such intimidation. Yet it is different for one very significant reason: that there has been a longstanding, unspoken rule that political parties in Britain should not be harassed by the police, particularly when campaigning. We accustom such behavior with dictatorship, not democracy.
The incident occurred when candidate Derek Allpass and his team were out campaigning on June 21, for the Henley by-election (held June 26). They had set up a table with promotional material, and strung bunting sporting the red cross of St. George around it. However, the team was soon approached by the police and the Town Clerk, the latter of whom allegedly told Allpass, “we don’t want that flag here in Henley.” Darren Riley, the Party’s Kent Chairman, responded by pointing a church that was close by, and likewise flying the England flag (because it was under the denomination of the Church of England), and remarked, “if you don’t want England’s flag flying in Henley you had better take this up with the Vicar too.”
Nevertheless, the authorities claimed that the display of the flag by the English Democrats breached a by-law, and instructed them to remove both the table and bunting. The by-law in question has yet to be shown to the party, though as the town was also strewn with red, white, and blue bunting (signifying the United Kingdom, as opposed to England), one can only wonder how peculiarly specific it must be. There were several witnesses, and the party intends to issue the Town Clerk with a Section 65 Race Relations Act Questionnaire if the by-law does not state what was claimed.
The English Democrats team complied with the request – though not before taking photographs of the display – and continuing their campaigning. Henley is a Conservative safe seat, and was held by Boris Johnson until recently, who prompted the election when he resigned to concentrate on his position as London Mayor.
But of course the flag of Empire, the Union Jack, symbol of an element of Britain's "shameful" past, and now the favoured flag of the British National Party, IS allowed in Henley. So is the English flag - but only if flying on the local church.
Good luck to the EDP in challenging this latest example of anti-English/England bigotry in England.
The EDP has highlighted this issue on YouTube - see the video below.
Big hat tip to Wonko.

The Green Party - About As Much Use As A Nuclear Accident...
This is from politics.co.uk and the speech detailed below regards the controversial Planning Bill, foisted on England by the Scottish Raj:
"The current proposals mean undermining democracy in favour of an increasingly centralised and authoritarian government," the Green party's principle speaker Caroline Lucas told politics.co.uk.
"Consulting with local people on disruptive, polluting projects like airports or power stations is essential, and any attempt to 'streamline' these processes to save money, or to hand them over to appointed yes-men, is a scandalous affront to the rights of ordinary people in the UK," she continued.
The Planning Bill does not apply to Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland - and was brought in by using the votes of non-accountable MPs. Remember, Scots, Welsh and Northern Irish MPs can vote on English issues, but this is not reciprocated.
If the likes of the Green Party were to highlight the various undemocratic practices taking place against the people of England they might arouse more interest.
But never mind. The type of people traditionally attracted to the Green Party tended to be middle class numpties, who thought "England" was a dirty word.
It seems some things don't change. Or is Caroline Lucas just thick?
English Planning Laws Changed With Scots Votes
On Wednesday June 25th harsh restrictions on democracy in the treatment of planning applications in England, personally endorsed and promoted by Gordon Brown UK Prime Minister, were carried with the help of votes of Scotland 50 MPs of which he is one. Mr Brown is MP for Kirkaldy and Cowdenbeath in Fifeshire. His government’s new proposals, which he calls ‘a reform of the planning laws’ were carried by a majority of only 43 votes. They were opposed not just by rebel Labour English MPs, the Conservative Party and the Lib-Dem Party but also such organisations as the Friends of the Earth (FoE) and the Campaign for the Protection of Rural England (CPRE).
‘This vote is yet another searing example of the way the 1998 devolution legislation devised and spearheaded by Gordon Brown treats England with flagrant injustice,’ stated Michael Knowles National Council member and Head of the CEP Media Unit in a message circulated to all CEP members in England. ‘That legislation provided a parliament for Mr Brown’s own country and an assembly for Wales but nothing at all for England. That legislation enables Scotland’s MPs to vote on every single measure which affects England while it denies to England’s MPs any say at all in the legislation that the Scottish Parliament passes for Scotland. Scotland by virtue of the 1998 devolution measures is now 75% independent of the rest of the UK. England’s MP’s have no say at all in Scotland’s planning matters. Yet Scotland’s MPs were able yesterday to help vote through the most restrictive and anti-democratic planning legislation affecting England only in the whole of the post-war period.’
The CEP endorses the opposition to the new proposals made by the FoE and the CPRE. ‘This planning bill is undemocratic, marginalises community voices and does nothing to tackle climate change,’ has stated Hugh Ellis FoE planning campaigner. ‘The new system removes the public’s right and safeguards” Mr Ellis stated. ‘Instead unaccountable commissioners will decide whether anyone can cross-examine, which witnesses are heard and whether there will be a public hearing for each planning decision.’
‘Unlike Scotland with its own parliament and Wales with its assembly,’ Michael Knowles wrote to the CEP membership, ‘England has no voice of its own to defend its environment. For this government, and Mr Brown in particular, England is just a market place, a building site, an employment park, a trading estate, a huge shopping mall, a monumental car park. Nothing else. By means of the 1998 devolution which he drove through the UK parliament he got for his own Scotland a parliament which can fully protect its great and glorious enviironment about which all Scots can be justly proud and enjoy to the full, himself included. He does not treat his country as a mere trading estate like he treats England. The time has definitely come for England to have the same means of protection, its own parliament.’

Kent Online Displays Its Ignorance On The English Parliament Issue And Stuart Wheeler Loses...
Robbie Craig from Dungeness, said: “ The only point of new government tiers is if they increase the accountability of politicians and bring important decisions closer to the electorate. An English Parliament would not do that.
“Better to have regional government and local government with real power.”
What is the gentleman on about? Non-accountable Scottish MPs, including our Prime Minister, rule us!
Surely the internal government of England should be decided by the electorate in England? All that was on offer was tinpot regional assemblies, which still allowed non-accountable MPs to decide crucial national issues pertaining to England. And health apartheid and the West Lothian Question are running absolutely rampant.
Don't get me wrong, a cross section of opinion is inportant, but the final paragraphs of an article carry great weight. Shame on you, Samantha Payne and Kent Online!
Meanwhile, Stuart Wheeler has lost his case to stop the ratification of the Lisbon Treaty - and even whilst the matter was sub-judice, the arrogant UK Government, headed by no mandate Prime Minister Gordon Brown and including non-objective beneficiaries of the EU Pension Fund like Neil Kinnock, went ahead with discussing and voting on the matter, and the Queen gave it royal assent!
Another bad day for democracy - and one which casts doubt on the honesty of our legal system.
My only comfort is that in the long term dictatorships never prosper. But I shudder at the thought of the damage that will be done before the downfall of this one.
UPDATE: Stuart Wheeler to appeal! Well done that man! He is speaking for an awful lot of people!
Tesco, Sainsbury's, Co-op and Asda Scottish Bias - A Polish View
Asda - anti-English, Scottish exalting labelling - also at Tesco, Sainsbury's and the Co-op.BBC Wales: Dr Who Turns Anti-English - Update
OH NO! IT'S THE DALEKS! They're almost as bad as the English...I noticed a few years ago that the revived Dr Who, made from the beginning by the BBC in London, was being made by BBC Wales - the main mover and shaker being one Russell T Davies. And now it seems anti-English bigotry is creeping in. Wonko writes on the CEP News Blog:
Tonight’s episode of Dr Who, broadcast on BBC1, had a scene which portrayed the English as racists, likening them to the Nazi’s.
The scene in question shows an Italian family being loaded into the back of a truck to be taken to a forced labour camp. The Italian man says “you know how it is, England for the English” and one of the other characters then made a reference to Nazi forced labour camps.
Dr Who is made by BBC Wales and the actor playing Dr Who is a Scot. Throughout the series and in previous series, they have been consistent in their use of “Britain” and “British”. I don’t recall hearing “England” or “English” used once in this series
I don't watch modern day telly, myself but I have heard of a recent Dr Who adventure featuring a certain Mr Saxon, who turned out to be a complete bastard. Was this, I wondered, based on the Welsh fantasy that they are Celts and the English are Anglo Saxons?
As it is, in my view, England is the most cosmopolitan and least racist of all the UK nations. Dr Who has been captured by the Little Waleans!
Read the CEP post here.
UPDATE: CEP Bucks visualises the scenario with the Dr Who production team at BBC Wales as they seek to tarnish the English image, even going so far as to misquote an old book title - which is what they appear to have done. "England For The English" should read "Britain For The British". But as with most Welsh and Scots anti-English racism, England is always specified if something negative is being inferred. They must leave themselves blameless.
Here's CEP Bucks:
I imagine a room somewhere in BBC Wales......
"how about "British Jobs for British People"?... No, that wouldn't work, the author is Scottish...OK, how about "Britain for the British"? It was the title of a book written in 1902 by a socialist and was adopted as a theme by the then fledgling Labour Party. It was also a popular theme for the National Front in the 1970s and is commonly used by the BNP today....No, that wouldn't work either, because it includes Scots and Welsh. We've got to think of a way to slag off the English whilst leaving the Welsh and the Scots squeaky clean....I know, how about we change the word "Britain" for "England" and then change "British" for "English"? So, it becomes "England for the English"! ...
Brilliant! That way we can liable the English and leave a subliminal message in the minds of the viewer...

"Britishness" Foisted On English Schools By UK Government
And so school pupils in England are to be indoctrinated as British citizens under the Scottish Raj.
The "Britishness" thing is, of course, being vaunted as being inclusive and non-racist. Which an inclusive English civic identity could also be. As "Britishness" is not being taught in Scots and Welsh schools, it's easy to see the UK Government's agenda.
If you have school age children why not request that they don't attend these indoctrination sessions? For that is what this is - indoctrination - designed to keep the people of England divided and under the cosh of the UK Government.

Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda And The Co-op Pander To Anti-English Racists In Scotland And Wales
We often fume over the anti-English packaging in our big three supermarkets, and the fact that such bias is shown towards the Scots and occasionally the Welsh. Well, Scilla Cullen, of the Campaign For An English Parliament, has been finding out why. Apparently, Asda, Tesco's, Sainsbury's and the Co-op won't label thing as "English" because anti-English Scots and Welsh bigots won't buy them. These are a tiny proportion of the population and should not be pandered to in any way shape or form. But, according to England's biggest supermarket chains, "English", "England" and the St George's flag must not appear on the packaging to appease racists. This makes the supermarkets appear to be anti-English bigots themselves.
Don't buy Tesco, Asda, Co-op or Sainsbury's if you can avoid, and boycott their "proudly marked" Scots and Welsh produce if you do have to go in.
Racism is wrong.
The anti-England/English Scots and Welsh bulldozer currently devastating several key areas of our lives, not least our politics and rights as shoppers, must be stopped.

Derek Wyatt - Labour MP Calls For An English Parliament...
This debate has a simple theme. My constituents are living in a half-finished house that costs them money, and they are beginning to resent it. The half-finished house in our country—the United Kingdom—has, like so many historic houses, grown up over the centuries without a master plan and according to the needs or whims of successive owners. Nearly 90 years ago, after a long and bitter dispute, we gave the neighbouring property to its sitting tenants—although some preferred to go on living with us. We spent the next 70 years or so trying to improve our house to make it a better place in which to live and trying to protect it from outside attack. We made no changes to the structure of the house and all the rooms and facilities were shared among all the residents.
However, in the past 10 years, there has been some major remodelling of the property. We converted the upstairs into a separate flat for the Scots and created another flat with inferior facilities in the west wing for the Welsh. We then persuaded the Northern Irish to live in another flat in the orangery—although many of them wanted to live with their neighbours next door. All that remodelling failed to create any special space for the English. They went on living in the property, but the Scots, the Welsh and the Northern Irish were still free to walk in and help themselves to the fridge and the drinks cabinet. They could even make rules for the English that they themselves did not have to follow. Meanwhile, the English went on paying most of the household bills.
More and more of the English, including many of my constituents, are finding that an uncomfortable way to live. They put up with it when there was plenty of money coming into the house, but now that money is scarcer and outgoings are rising, they are beginning to question it. I propose some restructuring of the property so that we can all live in the way that we want to without imposing on one another. I am also calling for a fair and transparent system of meeting the household bills. That will entail replacing the Barnett formula, which, as we know, was intended to be a temporary expedient that would last six months. However, the formula still regulates the financial relationships between the separate devolved entities of the United Kingdom. Our household settles its accounts through arrangements that were set up in the 1970s for reasons that no one can remember and with results that no one can understand.
