1960s Spiderman Theme Skit

Here Drew can don his anorak...

Kev wrote...

The other day I watched the Simpson's movie and very enjoyable it was to, but I cannot get the song Homer was singing out of my mind.

It was Spider pig does everything a spider pig does to the theme tune of the old Spiderman TV series of the 70's just so funny.

Homer Simpson is the best character in the Simpson's.

But, like so many things touted as "70s", the Spiderman theme was 1960s - dating from 1967. The series actually ended in 1970.

It's Sooo nice to write a post that isn't about the need for an EP!

Hope you don't mind, Kev!

BBC: Chris Hoy Scottish, Scot, Scottish - OOOHHH!! But Not British, Brit, British...

Looking back over the BBC reports on the Beijing Oympics, the Scot thing is often too much.

Praise has been heaped on Scottish cyclist Chris Hoy after he won gold in the men's cycling team sprint at the Beijing Olympics.

Hoy, from Edinburgh, Scot anchored the three man squad to victory.

Scottish Deputy first minister Nicola Sturgeon said his success was an inspiration to everyone in Scotland.

Scottish Cycling chief executive Jackie Davidson said it was phenomenal.

No mention of Britain/British/Brit at all - and the "Scot anchored" thing is ridiculous.

But the BBC did tell us on another page:

He now lives in Salford, Greater Manchester, enabling him to practice with his British team-mates at the city's velodrome.

So Chris Hoy is Scottish, not British.

And as for the English? Of course, in the BBC and UK Government's universe they - and England itself - simply do not exist.

Doug Jamieson - Come On Down, Little Scotlander - Wouldn't Think Yourself A Celt As Well, Would You?

Here's dear old heavily subsidised spoilt brat nation Wales flying its own flag - not the British one - for its returning atheletes. What really annoys me is that if Wales wasn't being subsidised by England via the UK Government it might have other things to think about than all this flag waving and insulting the English - like survival as a real nation!

Meanwhile, the BBC lets a Little Scotlander and probably a Celt fantasist have a say on the proceedings:

Among the crowd were visitors from further afield.

Doug Jamieson, 59, and his wife Jen, 60, from Edinburgh were visiting their friend Ada Stein, 93, in Cardiff.

Mr Jamieson said: "The Olympics is a marvellous achievement for the small countries of Scotland and Wales.

"They have all done so very well and it's not right to pick out one in particular. They have all tried their very best."

He said: "it is a breath of fresh air in a dreich (miserable) summer.

Cosy up, dear - I suppose you feel some sense of fraternity to your fellow fantasy Celts - and of course you don't even mention England!

And "dreich" - oh please, my Mum's Mum used to say that - but I thought it went out with the ark!

Talk about "over-egging the pudding" - trying to over-Scot yourself a little for the Beeb, weren't you?

Mind you, it says a lot for the BBC Wales news writers that they do this sort of thing at all - seek out somebody from a fellow "Celtic nation" specially - when it could have been anybody from anywhere who just happened to be visiting Wales!

YUCK!!

It's crap like this from the BBC (and Wales) which convinces me that the Union needs abolishing. These proud little "nations" need to find their own way.

And good luck to 'em. I'm sure they'll do it. And at least then I won't feel like vomiting every time there's a "proud" display of Welsh nationalism because that country's claws are digging deep into my pockets and its citizens are being treated as an elite.

Whilst in England it's a case of "Anyone For Health Apartheid?"

Meanwhile, the BBC is obviously very selective about what it says and photographs in England - as Matthew and Noelle Stallard, parents of rower Tom Stallard, sit there with a Union Flag, on their knees and witter on about being "proud to be British" and how great the 2012 Olympics will be. The Stallards are just the sort of ill-informeds the BBC adores:

Mrs Stallard added: "Loads of people we know have changed their attitude already to 2012.

"They say they feel proud to be British. I think everybody is now beginning to feel excited by the 2012 idea."

Care to quantify that, Mrs Stallard? And as for sitting there with the Union Flag - words fail me. Well, actually they don't. But I don't want to become offensive.

Mr and Mrs Stallard don the butcher's apron. Ohh we're British, ooh everybody's so excited about the Olympics... Yeah, right!!

Petition For A Referendum On The Lisbon Treaty: The Twisted UK Government Responds - And The Devil's Kitchen Responds To The Response...

The Government believes that EU Membership is firmly in Britain’s national interest, and remains committed to ensuring that the EU is focussed on adding value for its citizens.

Sometimes we feel tired. Tired of fighting for justice, tired of trying to get "our" Government to honour its promises and act in any way democratically. The UK Government has just responded to the petition for a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty, which New Labour promised us would take place, and our no-mandate Prime Minister Gordon Brown then went ahead and signed without consulting the electorate at all.

The most ridiculous part of it all is this dispicable Government quoting the fact that a referendum took place on the EEC in 1975, when we were already a member. The EEC was not the EU, simply a forerunner, a very different beast indeed, and it seems politicians were lying through their teeth even way back then. We were told back then that membership of the EEC would not lead to the current scenario.

The reply just received is not unexpected. But it is sickening. Full of lies and self serving nonsense. The UK Government is a corrupt, undemocratic shit of an organisation. The Devil's Kitchen puts it better than we can here.

Gordon Brown Insults England About Football's Origins And Then Rubs Salt In The Wound...

Sir Alex Ferguson - "Can the Scot lead the united home nations to gold in 2012?" writes some daft wally at Sky News.

As reported earlier, no-mandate PM Gordon Brown stole England's footballing origins and gave them to "Britain" yesterday, and now he wants to appoint a fellow Scot as manager of his "British" football team to compete in the 20012 Olympics!

Good grief - this man really does hate England and the English, doesn't he?

Still, the public gets what the public wants - and the resounding lack of noise over far more serious issues like health apartheid makes me think that Mr Brown will get his way - and there'll hardly be a murmur of protest.

"I'm English, kick me..."

UPDATE:

Quote From The Sky News Comments Thread...

Ferguson? Brown has got to be joking! Remember how Ferguson coached foreign teams in order to get England knocked out of the World Cup!

We say: But that was England. If Brown has his way, England will soon be history.

Arrogant Unionist/Scots Bigot Insult: Britain (Not England) Is The Home Of Football - Gordon Brown

"Britain is the home of football, which we gave to the world, and people will be surprised if there is an Olympic tournament in football and we are not part of it."

What a liar! England gave football to the world - not Britain. And Gordon Brown is just one slimy Scottish politician who signed the Scottish Claim Of Right in the 1980s, promising to put Scottish interests first in everything he does! Submerging England as "Britain" and denying us our achievements shows that Mr Brown still has that agenda very much in mind.

As for what Gordon Brown personally has given to the world... well, pass the sick bucket!

Big hat tip to Britology Watch.

The Triumphant Return Of "Britishness": Olympics Outfits In (Mainly) Saltire Colours And I'm Doing It For Wales...

Iain Martin at The Telegraph tells us that the Olympics have proven that "Great Britain is far from finished". I don't see it. Only the English participants were habitually tagged "British" by the likes of the BBC and ITN, and David Davies, swimmer, had this to say:

"I'm really proud of Wales' achievements at this Olympics. It looks to become an incredibly memorable Games for a proud sporting nation and I want to be a part of that."

Only the English atheletes, politically apathetic and ignorant like so many, and fed a load of horse shit for donkey's years, towed the "British" line.

The Olympics are not going to serve to flag up a corrupt, self-serving institution like the UK and its Government, which creates elites on grounds of nationality and actively practices apartheid against the vast majority.

Here's the delectable Chris Hoy, dressed in a fetchingly 1980s high camp cycling outfit which seems to feature an awful lot of blue and white. Rather like the Scottish Saltire and not very like the Union Flag at all. There is a thin band of red there somewhere - is for that Northern Ireland? Where is the thick red band for England? Shouldn't that be in the space occupied by the words "Great Britain"? Who designed these "Team GB" outfits? English hating Scots or Welsh person or English hating English person?

The BBC And The Welsh At The Olympics - The Welsh Really Are Not British

"Just call that lot from England 'British'", says the BBC. "Bloody rabble. That's one country we simply WILL NOT recognise..."

"But here's a Welshman. He's Welsh! From Wales! Pure and strong and noble..." - the BBC goes overboard for David Davies and the Welsh, Welshness, Wales, etc, etc...

The BBC is still at it - flagging up to the Welsh (and Scots) and calling only the English "British" at the Olympics.

Swimmer David Davies has added to Wales' best Olympics medal tally for 88 years by winning silver in the 10km open-water swim.

Davies, 23, led for most of the race only be overhauled by Dutchman Maarten van der Weijden, who finished 1.5 seconds ahead in one hour 59.6 seconds. "It's going to take a while for it to sink in, but it's a proud moment for me," said the Welshman.

"I like swimming from the front, but the final section was a blur."

Davies took an early lead, but could not hold on against the Dutchman's late challenge.

The Welshman's was Britain's third open-water medal after Keri Anne-Payne and Cassie Patten won silver and bronze respectively in the women's race.

Davies' efforts ensured Wales had another Olympic hero to toast amid the Great Britain Beijing gold-rush sparked by cyclist Nicole Cooke.

And swimmer David Davies is so proud of Wales. "I'm really proud of Wales' achievements at this Olympics. It looks to become an incredibly memorable Games for a proud sporting nation and I want to be a part of that."

But Wales is not competing as a nation. Nor even as Wales, come to that.

And the BBC headline reads: Davies Extends Welsh Medal Haul. So he's really not British? And Wales is competing in the Olympics and has done so for years?

Wales won four golds in 1920 as Paulo Radmilovic and Christopher Jones were part of the victorious water polo team while Cecil Griffiths and John Ainsworth-Davies were in the 4x400m team that won gold.

Reality check - surely WALES hasn't won anything in the Olympics? Surely it's Team GB? Proud to be British and all that baloney? The same stuff we English are force fed?

But the BBC goes on (and on), celebrating "Wales' Olympic Roll Of Honour".

How come?

ITN also calls Davies a Welshman - apparently he behaved in a very... er... Welsh way. Well, it can't be British, can it? Davies is Welsh. Only the English are British.

The Welshman was talking to the press about his performance when an official tried to guide him towards his medal ceremony.

Davies turned to the official and said: "Will you shut up, please!"

But the official continued to interrupt Davies, who threw the contents of his water bottle at her.

Oh dear. Perhaps she was English, er, I mean British?

The BBC Again: The England Football Team And The Scots' Football Team...

There's enforced BBC Radio One listening whenever I visit my sister, and I am surprised at how vapid it all is. Wasn't it supposed to become cutting edge and up-to-date a few years ago, with 1980s goodies like "Our Tune" chucked out in favour of a daring new style which would appeal to modern yoof?

Sadly, it's more vapid than ever (the other week a DJ was excited because somebody had brought some jelly beans into the studio - "I LOVE jelly beans!" she shrieked) but, oddly enough, the news bulletins are still called "News Beat" - just as they were in the 60s/70s/80s!

Anyway, today I heard the sports chappie telling listeners all about the latest goings on in the world of football. The England team (bunch of Nivea boys that they are) had lost. Of course, the presenter couldn't avoid saying "England" in this instance, but he never said "English". Then it was off North of The Border: "The Scots didn't win this one," he trilled.

I see. So there's an England football team (NEVER English) probably containing "Britons" but Scotland has a football team containing "Scots"?

Another example of BBC anti-English bias and Scots bottom licking, IMHO.

The BBC...

I don't bother much with blog stats, but sometimes I'm glad I did. It was great to see that the BBC spent more than three minutes looking at my post about the disgraceful anti-English bias shown by those reporting the Olympics. Not that it's the first time Auntie has been here or, I know, to other similar blogs and websites. Auntie knows there's a problem. But the fact is she persistently ignores it and carries on regardless.

So may I suggest the above logo would be an honest declaration of BBC attitudes and that they adopt it forewith?

Poynton - Let's Change Our Flag To The Union Flag - We'll Be Just Like The BNP Then...

Hate to publish this logo... but it makes my point...

A recent story I've just discovered - apparently Poynton Civic Hall nearly swapped its St George's Flag for a Union Flag recently, you know, the same design as the British National Party's logo and emblem.

However, Poynton councillors, like so many other folk, seem to be on something which muddles the mind when it comes to the Cross of St George...

THE Cross of St George will remain above Poynton Civic Hall - despite calls for it to be scrapped in favour of the Union Flag.

The issue was raised at the Parks, Buildings and Highways Committee meeting of the Poynton With Worth Parish Council, held last week, where it was decided to replace the hall’s flag - at a cost of around £50 - because according to some ‘it was beginning to look old and tatty’.

While the Cross of St George has flown above the hall in the past, there was a suggestion that the flag should be swapped for a Union Flag - the Union Jack - because the St George’s Cross has in the past been used as a symbol for the British National Party, a link that has seen it removed from some public buildings.

But such a move was strongly opposed by Councillor Howard Murray, who pointed to the fact that the Union Flag should only be flown above civic buildings on 13 days during the year, mainly royal birthdays.

He added that Poynton Parish Council would not be breaking with tradition for the sake of political correctness.

“In the past the far right has taken over the Cross of St George but the flag should be given back to the people,” said Coun Murray.

“Those who are offended by the flag can stay offended because the fact of the matter is, that by convention it is the Cross of St George that flies above civic buildings a majority of the time.”

Er, as far as I know the BNP have always sported the Union Flag - with the sub-national flags of each UK nation sometimes draped around it. However, up until the 1990s it was bloody hard to buy a St George's flag in England anyway.

Why do these people talk such crap? What addles them?

The Cross of St George is a persecuted emblem simply because it suits those in power to deny England recognition and a national parliament. So, the English, England, and its national flag are demonised at every opportunity.

What do they take us for?

No need to answer that...

Meanwhile, the Scots flag, with its Klu Klux Klan associations, flutters unremarked upon. And the Scots, of course, are pure Celts, living in a pure Celtic nation...

Pass the sick bucket...

Hat-tip to the CEP News Blog - and I pinched your illustration, Wonko - hope you don't mind. xx

The BBC: Not Only The British Took Part In The Olympics For The UK: There Were Scots And Welsh People Too - But No English!

The BBC's hateful anti-English bias has once more emerged into the spotlight thanks to its coverage of the Olympics. Yep, the Scots are Scots, the Welsh are Welsh, and the English are British. How come? That's illogical. No, not really. It's just typical BBC anti-English bigotry. OK, we pay the lion's share of the licence fee revenue, but as we have to pay it, why should they give a stuff? Little Scotlanders, Little Waleseans and self-loathing English folk have a field day every day of the year working for the BBC!

Mike Knowles of the Campaign For An English Parliament, states in a press release:

"In its CEEFAX August 19th bulletin, the BBC described Chris Hoy the triple gold medalist as 'the Scot'. On one occasion as 'the flying Scotsman'.However, it described Victoria Pendleton the triumphant women's sprint cyclist Olympic champion from Bedfordshire and Christine Ohuruogo the 400 metre gold medalist from London as 'Britons', not once as English. In the first week of the Games both BBC reporters and BBC CEEFAX described Nicole Cook who took the first gold medal for the British team as Welsh, even as 'the Welsh Princess' but Rebecca Adlington who achieved two gold medals in swimming only as 'British', never English.'

'What we are witnessing, and consistently witnessing,' stated Mr Knowles 'is BBC bias against England and the English people. The BBC will do all it can not to bring attention to the national identity of English people. The BBC is acting very politically. Its refusal to have a BBC England and substituting nine regional broadcasting units for England is political. It regards acknowledgement of England's distinct identity as a threat to the existence of the United Kingdom. It is not a threat. And the BBC has no right within its charter to act in such a pronounced political manner. The BBC has organised itself as a broadcaster into 'nations and regions'. The 'nations' are Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, the distinct national identity of which it recognises and promotes. It refuses to recognises England as a nation. It treats England as nine regions. It will not recognise our distinct English identity. All this is political.'

'The BBC should not discriminate against England. It should not act politically. It should report impartially and fairly. If in reporting on TeamGB it makes mention of the specific national identity of Welsh and Scottish athletes, it should make mention likewise of the English identity of English athletes.'

Exactly. Anything else is absurd. Absurdly anti-English, that is.

David Cameron - He'll Mend Our Broken Society, But Don't Expect Equal Funding, OK, You Sour Little Englanders?

David Cameron is happy with health apartheid and asymmetric devolution - anybody who complains is a "Sour Little Englander". And now this twisted public school cretin is wittering on about mending our broken society. Of course, those who were little boys/girls in the 1980s, are banging on about what an improvement this statement is on the dread days of Thatcher.

But it's all words. All crap. David Cameron's government actively backs murder in England by refusing to stand up for the electorate on the health apartheid issue. The most you will get from the Tories is reference to a "postcode lottery" regarding health - as though it was a problem affecting the UK as a whole. The fact that Scotland and Wales receive far higher funding via the Barnett Formula is always ignored. Or played down to such an extent you would think it didn't really matter. Meanwhile, "British" Cameron bangs on about "a Scottish Empire" and having ancestors who were involved in the same.

The democratic rights of the people of England matter not a jot to him. And he also tells lies about the EU.

The man is so far removed from modern day England - or Britain for that matter - such a heartless spinner of pap, that he takes my breath away.

Thatcher said there was no such thing as society - people were too dependent on the State in her view. She stated that the country was made up of families and individuals - first you must help yourself then your neighbour. Governments could only act through people. That was the full gist of her 1987 interview, reproduced below.

"I think we've been through a period where too many people have been given to understand that if they have a problem, it's the government's job to cope with it. 'I have a problem, I'll get a grant.' 'I'm homeless, the government must house me.' They're casting their problem on society. And, you know, there is no such thing as society. There are individual men and women, and there are families. And no government can do anything except through people, and people must look to themselves first. It's our duty to look after ourselves and then, also to look after our neighbour. People have got the entitlements too much in mind, without the obligations. There's no such thing as entitlement, unless someone has first met an obligation."

I remember reading some old guru writing on a similar theme in the 1960s: "Tend at least your own garden. When it is without weeds, then help your neighbour".

Of course I disagreed with Thatcher. But not half as much as I disagree with the lying, twisted, self-serving anti-English/England politicians of the current day.

Kev Asks The BBC: Are You Discriminating Against The English? WENAP Answers: Do Bears Shit In Woods?

Kev has spotted that the BBC is at its anti-English worst - flagging up Scottish and Welshness in its coverage, but cleansing the land of Englishness.

As usual.

So, Kev has written to Auntie:

The lack of consistency, with the BBC Olympic coverage is highlighted by the fact with the above page about the British cycling team winning gold with the fact that the Scottish rider is identified as being Scottish but the two English riders are not identified as being English.

This also happened with the Welsh lady winning the first British gold medal at these games being identified as being Welsh whilst the English swimmer who won the second gold medal at these games was not identified as being English.

Please stop this discrimination against the English athletes.

Good luck, Kev - hope you receive a reply worth reading. But don't hold your breath. The BBC hates England and any notion of Englishness, and whilst we HAVE to pay the licence fee, no effort will be made to represent the UK nations fairly.

It's all part of living in our wonderful democracy.

And remember, the BBC had no problem in subsituting "English" for "British" in a DR WHO episode a few weeks ago. Bigoted BBC WALES gleefully altered the phrase "Britain For The British" to "England For The English" in an attempt to smear the English as racists.

Fair Flags Campaign

A dream come true - at last a blog dedicated to the issue of our supermarkets' outrageously unfair treatment of England.
