Lord Donald Cameron of Lochiel - Another England-Hating, Scotland-Glorifying 'UK' Government Parasite - Snout in the Trough, Hands in Our Pockets...

Goodness! Scotland now has a First Minister, its own parliament, an unfair say on legislation passed for the much larger and ethnically diverse country of England (the West Lothian Question) and the Barnett Formula - reviled by its late creator, Lord Joel Barnett!

Note how the Scottish Secretary of State (why do we need one now? We don't. We have a Scottish First Minister and parliament to confer with. How much is he paid?) avoids any mention of England in his House of Lords speech, and is basically an anti-England, UK Parliament gravy-train rider, paid for by England, and continuing the long tradition of a racist, resentful elite in the UK: Scotland - a tiny country of five million, free prescriptions for millionaires, keeping all its tax payer money, and getting loans from the so-called UK Government whenever it wants.

The five million people in Scotland compare to how many in England? And they have ALL this privilege. Surely not a healthy way to run a united kingdom, is it?

Donald Cameron resorts to the disgraceful obfuscation technique of referring to the 'UK' as a country twice in his spiel. The UK is a NATION, a so-called union of countries. If that was not so, Scotland would hardly have screeched for it own parliament - and Donald Cameron would not have jumped on the gravy train there. The UK is a democratically corrupt nation. It is not fit for purpose.

And Cameron's waffle about the Hebrides and the 'busy streets of London'? Both could be dealt with by the UK Parliament and local politicians representing those areas within it. Scotland already scoops far more from the pot than England proportionally via the Barnett Formula AND its own politicians and government buildings, on top of its snout-in-trough attendees at the 'UK' Parliament.

Donald Cameron slyly omits to mention that his own country, Scotland, has full recognition as a country, and that flag waving jingoism, historical revisionism, and a strong sense of exclusivity are all the rage there.

The 'UK' Parliament will do anything to preserve the travesty of the so-called UK - and is, itself, riddled with hatred for England. Yes, the most ethnically diverse UK country of all. The people of England have had no say in the type of government they want and have not been asked if they agree with asymmetric national devolution.

We have simply had a ruling UK elite trying to regionalise us out of existence.

We are ruled by devious hogs.

Remember, all this benefits a tiny number of UK residents - the five million in Scotland, a country which (falsely) lists itself as a Celtic Nation (based on the racist white Celtic myth, originating in 1707) and even its millionaires don't pay for  prescriptions and its people receive more spending per head of population than the people of England.

Wake up. Racism is alive and well in the so-called UK. And a lot of it is courtesy of our governing bodies - and absolutely part of the exclusive, jingoistic nature of the smaller countries of Scotland and, to a much lesser degree, Wales.

Inland Revenue: Bank Of England Out, Royal Bank Of Scotland In...

Incredibly, Gordon Brown, Alistair Darling and the rest of the Scottish Raj at Westminster are at it again:

During 2009 the Bank of England will no longer handle the Inland Revenue transactions. The bank accounts will in future be operated by the Royal Bank of Scotland and by Citibank. If you make electronic payments to the Inland Revenue, you will need to update your records to ensure that the payment goes to the correct bank account. Full details will be being issued in the near future.

Great business for the Royal Bank of Scotland, of course.

We know that Gordon Brown and Alistair Darling pledged to put Scotland first in all they did way back in 1989, but this is getting ridiculous.

Big hat-tip to the Cross of St George blog. Read it all here.

Just how much more are the sheep of England prepared to take?

CEP: At last, an English MP speaks up for England and English jobs

'All classes of nuclear submarines in Britain will be based at Faslane on the Clyde in Scotland from 2017'. That was yesterday’s announcement from Bob Ainsworth Minister of State for Defence. As from 2017 there won’t be a single nuclear submarine based in any English naval port. There will be no jobs for an Englishman or woman in the maintenance and service of the British nuclear fleet as from 2017.The four Vanguard class submarines, which carry Britain's Trident nuclear deterrent, are already based in Faslane. But from 2017 the remaining three nuclear-powered Trafalgar Class submarines, which do not carry nuclear warheads, will be moved from Devonport in Plymouth to Faslane. All the 10,000 plus jobs plus a similar number in the industries immediately supplying the bases will go from Devon to Scotland.

‘This is the most blatant act of discrimination against the English workforce yet carried out by this Scottish-led government in its eleven years of existence,’ David Wildgoose, Vice Chairman of the Campaign for an English Parliament, has stated in an emergency letter sent to all CEP members. ‘I urge every single member to write to their MP to object to this injustice. Britain's entire nuclear submarine fleet is to be based at Faslane on the Clyde. This government is allowing the "Scottish agenda" to threaten English jobs. Gordon Brown is taking jobs away from the English workforce of Devonport to ingratiate himself with this own Scottish countrymen and women in the hope of preserving Scottish votes in the coming local and EU elections on June 4th and the General Election next year. It is downright wrong. It is downright discrimination.

‘I agree wholeheartedly with the condemnation of the decision made by Gary Streeter, the MP for Devon South West who has said: "I fear that the Devonport naval base is going to be allowed to wither on the vine over the next five to 10 years. It has had 320 years of history. We will have the amphibious fleet, but that is three boats and not much else. That is not going to replace all these frigates and submarines". I agree with Mr Streeter when he says he is particularly angry because English jobs were being jeopardised by an attempt to appease the Scots.

And Mr Wildgoose reminded the CEP membership that for the last two years, in one press release after another, the Campaign has been trying to bring public attention to this Scottish-led UK government’s policy of transferring naval shipyard employment from Devonport, Tyneside, Barrow on Furness and Appledore to the two Scottish yards of Faslane on the Clyde adjacent to the Glasgow heartland of the government’s support in Scotland and to Rosyth right next to Gordon Brown’s own constituency. ‘We must make our objections known to our English MPs. English MPs must stand up for the English workforce'.

CEP: Open letter to the Calman Commission on Scottish Devolution and the British Government from the campaign for an English Government

We read in the Times online of 28th April 2009 that radical plans to give the Scottish government control of up to half of the income tax raised north of the Border and most of the revenue from North Sea oil and gas are being considered by economists advising the Calman Commission.

We are told that the commission, chaired by Sir Kenneth Calman, was charged by the three main Unionist parties (Labour, Liberal Democrat and Conservative) to find ways that the existing devolution settlement can be made to work better for all parts of the UK. We must assume that all parts of the UK includes England but most of the gas fields are in English waters so who is to negotiate on England’s behalf? Who has the authority to ensure that the interests of the English taxpayers are protected? Indeed who speaks for England?

We are further told that the commission is set to back borrowing powers for Holyrood as one of its main recommendations when it reports later this year. While not explicitly stated, the inference from other reports is that the borrowing will be from the British Government the vast majority of whose funding comes from England. With the example of the toxic assets of the Scottish banks before us should not England be consulted before its people are touched for any loan? And what guarantee do the people of England have that such debts will be administered by those with the best interests of England at heart?

If Holyrood is to get most of the revenue from British North Sea oil and gas-will the Scottish government then take on most of the cost of the failure of the Scottish Banks or will the enormous national debt, taken on by the British Government on behalf of those banks, remain a millstone around the necks of the English taxpayer for a generation?

The Calman Commission had a remit largely specific to Scotland. In a united kingdom why does Scotland gets to debate about Scotland with a Scottish PM, Scottish Chancellor, Scottish Speaker, without reference to the rest of the Union? At least Wales and Northern Ireland have their own Assemblies to argue for their interests. England as usual, is left with nothing but the bill.

It is imperative that an English Assembly or Parliament is convened in order to protect the interests of the people of England who are currently unrepresented nationally in the British constitutional settlement.

Gordon Brown Tells Lies Again - England Once More Becomes "Britain"

What an absolute liar Gordon Brown is!

Here he goes again:

Writing in the News of the World, Mr Brown insisted: "It is my ambition to create a Britain in which there is a clear expectation that all young people will undertake some service to their community, and where community service will become a normal part of growing up in Britain."

Two mentions of "Britain" in one sentence, but the dishonest toad has no authority on this matter in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland - only in England, where he is not accountable to the electorate.

We really do need an honest Government which is accountable to the electorate in England. The sooner we vote this England-hating Scots-elected dictator out, hiding as he does behind the smoke and mirrors of a fictitious "Britain", the better.

Planning Wars - It's ENGLAND not BRITAIN Which Is Under Threat!

Waking Hereward reports on yet another load of media nonsense, in which devolution does not exist, in which England, the only country subjected to New Labour's undemocratic new planning laws is referred to as BRITAIN. Smoke and mirrors? Not 'arf!!

Here's Waking Hereward on January 7:

Last night's ITV's Planning Wars programme concerned itself with the imminent concreting over 'of Britain'. It majored on new must-have runways running straight through someone's front room, mega huge warehouses the size of Shropshire and 3 million new houses.

As per usual with such productions, they sanitised the info. England, the real target of this concretia was sort of buried and forgotten - much like the average English citizens democratic rights. According to the Gravelly-Voiced narrator, it was 'Britain' which was bracing itself for the flop of wet concrete on a verdant green belted landscape. It was Britain which was about to be trowelled into oblivion. It was 'Britain' which was about to suffer from the obscene new planning laws....

Interestingly, "Waking H" includes the following fact:

'Films of Record' were the producers of the programme. That's the outfit run by Roger Graef - the guy who likes to big up his factually accurate credentials. What a pity that instead of telling it as it is, his production company elected to follow the usual new Labour snail-trail of fudge, inaccuracy and lies.

Flipping typical when it comes to media types backing up New Labour's corruption of democracy for the citizens of England.

Read it all here.

Damian Green

The Daily Mash gives its own take on the arrest of Conservative MP Damian Green:

THE Prime Minister last night began the elimination of his enemies as he pledged to cleanse Britain of the virus of dissent.

Crowds cheered and threw rotten fruit at Conservative MP Damian Green as he was dragged from his bed in the early hours by the Prime Minister's anti-treason officers.

Click on the red text for more.

And be afraid. Be very afraid. Wit aside, what is happening in England today (I would write "Britain" but Scotland and Wales have been granted meaningful national devolution, doncha know, and their peoples still question things) is quite, quite terrifying.

Jim Fitzpatrick And The Department Of Transport Tell Lies - It's ENGLAND Not Britain...

Alfie was on the case when it came to Jim Fitzpatrick, England's Transport Minister, telling lies - making out that his remit covered Scotland and Wales too...

And a direct quote from Jim within the press release clinches it - "Britain has one of the best road safety records in the world and the number of people killed or hurt has fallen dramatically in the last decade. But too many people are still dying on our roads".

Yup – it’s all about Britain all right.... Wondering if I had missed something - and that Transport had been de-devolved back to Westminster, I decided to ring them – just to make sure.

“Hi, is that the section responsible for road safety?”

“Yes”...

“I’ve been watching Jim Fitzpatrick on the telly today – and the new initiative he is launching.... I notice that he keeps on saying it is a British-wide initiative. He keeps on saying it will cover ‘the whole country’. And that’s where I am getting a bit confused. I thought Transport was a devolved responsibility – so how, can Mr. Fitzpatrick be claiming a British jurisdiction when I know he simply does not have the power?”

“Errrrrrr, I’m not sure. Can you hang on a mo’?”

(I hung on for quite a few moes, actually).

“Hello – yes, well. Apparently, Mr. Fitzpatrick was only talking about England”.

“What!!!!!........ Only about England?”

“Yes. Only about England”

Read it all here.

And before you shrug and say "what does it matter?" may I point out that England is not Britain. Britain is Scotland, Wales and England. And when Government Ministers and Departments are lying to you about their remit there has to be something seriously amiss.

The UK Government Says - England Does Not Exist And The Regions Come Last On Our List Of Priorities...

How low down the list do we come on "The Government Says" site?

Well, there's what the UK Government is saying about matters UK wide, or what the UK Government is saying about matters in Scotland, Northern Ireland or Wales and what the UK Government is saying on Travel Advice.

Next is what the UK Government is saying about the international scene - on The Whitehouse, The United Nations and something called "Spin Different".

And finally, what the UK Government is saying about The Regions - well down the list, aren't they? Broken up, tinpot areas, without proper democratic representation. Previously part of a nation called England. And last on the list even though the population of each individual region far outstrips the populations of Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland.

To the UK Government, England simply does not exist. And the UK regions are always the very last things to be considered.

UPDATE: Recall how the North East, the only area allowed a referendum, voted NO to reginalisation - by 78%? But as soon as Gordon Brown came to power he determined to make regions absolute, and, thanks to the casting vote of Harriet Harman on the Modernisation Committee, plus lapdog English MPs and MPs from elsewhere in the UK, eager to keep the "Celtic" elite, his dream has become reality.

This Government is so undemocratic, it beggars belief. More here.

Number10.gov.uk: UK Government's Answer to The "Say England" E-Petition

Number10.gov.uk. the official site of the Prime Minister's office, has replied to the "Say England" petition. Remember it?

“We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to stop saying ‘Our country’ or ‘This country’ when he is talking in relation to devolved issues such as health, education and housing. If Mr Brown is talking about English matters then he should say ‘England’, even if it is politically inconvenient for him to do so.”

Details of Petition:

“There is a tendency amongst politicians of all hues to conflate England and the UK as if devolution had never happened. It’s less complicated that way. But devolution has happened and referring to England as ‘our country’ is confusing to a public that is not always aware that Mr Brown may be talking about policy areas that do not have a direct affect on his own constituents (to whom he is democratically accountable) because in Scotland those areas are the responsibility of MSPs in the Scottish Parliament and Government. Gordon Brown (Andrew Marr interview, 6 Oct 07): “But what I want to do is show people the vision that we have for the future of this country in housing and health and education and I want the chance, in the next phase of my premiership, to develop and show people the policies that are going to make a huge difference and show the change in the country itself.” Gordon Brown (PMQs, 10 Oct 07): “We will govern in the interests of the people, and what matters to the people is the health service, education, housing, and we will govern to make education, health and housing better in this country.”

The UK Government's response:

The Prime Minister has been elected by the people of Kirkcaldy & Cowdenbeath to represent them in the UK Parliament. As Prime Minister he heads the UK Government. It is in this capacity that he speaks when articulating his vision for the future of the country.

But over 75% of the legislation Gordon Brown proposes does not apply to those who elected him. Only to those who didn't. Only to those who can't vote him out. The UK Government seems to be admitting that if we desire democratic rule for England we must never again have an MP representing a Scottish constituency as Prime Minister. Also, the UK is not a country. It is a supposed union of countries.

Ignorance or what?

CEP Press Release: Gordon Brown - The Enemy Of England

‘Gordon Brown, MP for Kirkaldy and Cowdenbeath and Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, is using his office to break up England into regions and destroy its historic unity and national identity’. That is the message from Michael Knowles, head of the CEP media unit and national council member, to all CEP members. Brown is about to announce the establishment of the division of England into regional committees. The renowned economist Will Hutton had described the whole idea as ‘a veritable witches’ brew of internecine rivalries’. Nevertheless, under his predecessor Tony Blair it was Brown, a Scotsman, and John Prescott, a Welshman, who tried by every means possible to balkanise England into regional assemblies, pouring millions of English tax-payers money into promoting the policy until the people of the England’s North East in a referendum overwhelmingly threw out the idea by a majority of 78% to 22%.

Now Brown as Prime Minister is about to re-introduce the policy by dictat and by stealth. Without any manifesto authorisation and any public consultation he is setting up ‘regional committees of MPs’ for England, each with 9 MPs, each representing the 9 EU regional divisions of England, which have no roots in England’s local government history. They are 20th century EU artefacts. The real local government history of England is its historic counties and its great cities.

Gordon Brown’s purpose is both to invent a pseudo solution to the West Lothian Question and to terminate the historic national unity and identity of the English nation. Brown was the engine and architect of Scottish Devolution which re-established Scotland constitutionally and politically as a ‘distinct nation’ within the United Kingdom, and made it through its parliament 75% independent of the rest of the UK. With these regional committees for England he intends to create an impression that devolution has been given to England when in fact they will in the words of his Government’s own Regional Coordination Unit be nothing more than ‘Government Champions to promote national policies and explore how the ‘region’ can offer back solutions to Whitehall departments’.

By means of the Devolution legislation which he took through the Commons in 1997-98 Gordon Brown had Scotland treated as a single nation and he ensured that the balkanising EU policy of regional division would not be applied to Scotland even though it has very real and distinct regional differences economically, geographically and linguistically. He signed the notorious Scottish Claim of Right in 1989 in which he promised to act solely in everything he said and did in the interests of Scotland. He has never retracted that pledge, even as Prime Minister of the UK.

His polices for England as Prime Minister are, however, the precise opposite. He wants England divided against itself into competing ‘regions’, he wants English MPs competing against each other through ‘regional committees’; and in that way terminate the historic unity of the English people and undermine their sense of an English national identity. England is the oldest unified nation state in Europe. Gordon Brown wants to ensure, if he can, that it will never have its own national institution, such as his Scotland has in the shape of its own parliament, which will be a declaration of its distinct nationhood.

Gordon Brown - Evil Dictator - Hails Barack Obama

Gordon Brown, who signed the Scottish Claim of Right in 1989, vowing to put Scottish interests first in all he did, has hailed the election of Barack Obama as President of the USA.

Says Gordon, who is one of the most corrupt and downright evil men British politics has ever known:

"I know that the values we share in common and the policies we work on together will enable us, these two countries, to come through these difficult economic times and build a safer and more secure society for the future,"

He has also flagged up their joint commitment to "progressive" politics.

But Gordon Brown is a liar. He backed devolution for Scotland, his own country, whilst ensuring that Scots MPs at Westminster can force legislation onto the English. He presides over a "United Kingdom" where you can die in England for want of medication available on the NHS in Scotland.

He believes that Scots lives are worth more than English lives, and that Scottish politics should be more democratic than English politics. That Scots should have better services than the English. In his last act as UK Chancellor, Gordon Brown quietly slashed the budget of the English NHS, whilst leaving the Scots and Welsh services fully intact.

From the Financial Times:

Gordon Brown quietly slashed by a third this year’s hospital building and equipment budget in one of his last acts as chancellor.

Prompted by the tightness of the public finances, the new prime minister, who has placed the NHS as his “immediate priority”, cut the capital budget of the English NHS for 2007-08 from £6.2bn to £4.2bn. The move could delay the government’s hospital building and reconfiguration programme in England.

However, Mr Brown avoided equivalent cuts to the Scottish and Welsh NHS budgets even though the funding formula for the UK nations suggests they should have shared the pain. That decision leaves him open to criticism that he favoured patients in his home country.

This may be an auspicious day for America but Britain, nay, England, is in the grip of an evil political regime.

Let's not forget that. And let's not give Gordon Brown the satisfaction of shrilling his smug platitudes unchallenged on this or any other occasion.

Tricky - Glad To Be English - And Andrew Marr On "Taming England"

Two very different features have been drawn to our attention via the excellent Witanagemot Club today. One is on the young celebrity Tricky - proclaiming that he is very happy indeed to be English:

England knows how to integrate

Yesterday I was on the bus and saw a young Chinese girl talking to a 67 year old black woman, and by my hotel I’ve seen a black man and white woman arm in arm, walking to work. I just don’t see that anywhere else, and I’d notice it. At the end of the day, the thing with England is that I’m a black guy, but I’m English. If you’re an Arabic guy in France you could be born in France, but if you’re parents are Arabic, you’re still Arabic, they don’t look as you as being French. When I was growing up, people always saw me as an English kid. I’ve grown up here, so I’m English. I’ve got a British passport, no-one can look at me and tell me I’m not English. So the racism might be against black people, but it’s never that you’re not English.

Well, our knowledge of popular music stops circa 1989 (Pump Up The Jam, Fool's Gold and Jive Bunny!) so we can give no opinion on Tricky's work. But we like his attitude towards his homeland.

Meanwhile, Toque comes up with a snippet from Prospect Magazine, July, 1998. Here's Andrew Marr, telling us just why he feels free to wander around England so arrogantly:

“British” is a political term, not an ethnic one. There are no ethnic British. For millions of non-English island dwellers that makes it useful and reassuring. “Britain” may have imperial connotations, but it also represents the authority of treaty and ethnic compromise. For many black, Asian, European and Irish people here, who will never be English, Britishness is a useful badge of belonging. For you, in Edinburgh, Britain may seem a flag of convenience for Greater England. From where I sit, “British” surmounts and tames England. During the World Cup the cross of St George fluttered on every street; not everyone enjoyed that…

England has absorbed a lot of immigration over a long time without the rise of ethnic nationalism on the French or German model; this has something to do with the separation between the ethnic (Englishness) and the civic or political (Britishness). Asian people and black people can declare: I am British; and know that the assertion is irrefutable. But they don’t feel English, any more than I do. There is no such thing as an ethnic Briton, just as there isn’t an ethnic American. I like that.

So, rather than having an inclusive civic English identity, which would make us all English and equal, regardless of our origins, we have been "tamed" by Britishness. That's why we are ruled by Britishness - why we have health apartheid, the West Lothian Question, the Barnett Formula... why the people of England are not cared for anywhere near as well as their Scots/Welsh counterparts.

And of course that proud Scot Andrew Marr, happy to see England "tamed" and subsumed by Britishness, was all for Scottishness being recognised politically - he fully supported the establishment of the Scottish Parliament.

So, good news from Tricky, but a glimpse of what keeps us under the cosh of the Scottish Raj from Andrew Marr.

Sir Kenneth Calman Tells Us We Musn't Think Of England As A Country - We Must Think Of It As A Collection Of Regions...

"It depends where you live in England. It's quite important you don't think about England as a single place - you can break down the regions quite nicely. If you look at London for example, you would see London does pretty well."

London does not do pretty well out of the Barnett Formula - the Formula does not apply to London.

And many things - like health apartheid - are felt across the country by the people of England.

What the hell are you talking about, Sir Kenneth? The North East, the only area of England allowed a referendum, voted 78% NO to regionalisation. So why are you trying to insist that's how we look at England, not as a single place, a united country, but as "regions"?

Do we really need another Scots dictator and divider and ruler doing the rounds in England? Because that's clearly what Calman is.

Hat-tip to the glorious Witanagemot.

The British Retail Consortium - The Missing Link In England's Supermarkets' Anti-England Attitude?

You know what it's like. You've written to Tesco, Sainsbury's, Morrison's, Asda, Marks and Spencer and the Co-op about their refusal to label English products as English, nonsensically labelling them "British" whilst excluding the Scots and Welsh from that by marking them with Scots and Welsh flags. You've signed petitions, you've screamed, you've been ignored.

All of the major supermarkets in England seem determined to ignore England's existence whilst merrily displaying Scots and Welsh flags on their product packaging and slogans like "Morrison's - Proud To Serve Scotland".

Lately, there has been some hope that Sainsbury's may be about to launch a few clearly flagged English lines, but Tesco has hardened its face against England, proclaiming that "English inhabitants" feel more British than English, and using this dubious finding as an even more dubious reason to delete those very few lines they do have that are marked "English".

Alfie discovered the facts, and Fair Flags ran the story, along with several other sites, including this one. Maria discovered an interesting comment in the Fair Flags comments thread, pointing at a possible factor for this anti-English attitude in supermarkets across England. It's an organisation called The British Retail Consortium. The comment states that Alistair Darling has a finger firmly stuck in this pie, and a little investigation by Maria has thrown up the fact that the Consortium has British, Brussels, Scottish (of course) and London departments, but no English department - nor yet a Welsh one - although the Welsh Assembly does have input, as does the Northern Ireland Office.

Is this the missing link - the organisation orchestrating our supermarkets' and English food producers' growing anti-England bias (think Dairy Crest)?

Because something certainly is.

Jim Murphy - Another Smug Scots Parasite - Feeding Off The English...

Jim Murphy: Scotland is a proud, historic nation... I'll do all I can for Scotland... I love Scotland... Scotland is the most wonderful place on earth... we Scots are so great I could wee myself, etc, etc...

How do we afford all these MPs? And how come so many are for Scotland only? There's Scots over-representation at Westminster, MSPs, Euro MPs, and now a new full-time Scottish Secretary of State - the un-admirable Jim "Gob" Murphy. The admirable Secret Person points out that Scotland, on top of all this, also has a regional minister - like the ones forced on England to ensure our country's break-up by the Scottish Raj at Westminster.

So, we know that these Scots MPs are out to further Scotland's interests and couldn't give a hang about England or its people, and it's good that Jim Murphy should immediately reveal his Little Scotlander personality on his new blog:

"I will work with anyone who wants to advance our interests. In Europe I worked with centre-right and centre-left governments, with conservative and nationalist. I even enjoyed working with the Communist President of Cyprus. I know from experience the importance of building alliance to achieve real progress. But I will also vigorously oppose ideas and actions that will damage Scotland and her people. I love Scotland. I am passionate about its past and optimistic about its future. No political party has a monopoly on patriotism and I will challenge anyone who says otherwise. We have a great diversity in Scotland but we can all be united by the Saltire."

Not the Union Flag, rammed down our throats in England, you understand, but the saltire. Much as we admire the Scots Parliament's work on encouraging an inclusive non-Celtic-myth Scottishness, Jim Murphy, as a UK Minister, completely ignores the UK angle and makes it plain that Scotland is simply in it for what it can get out:

"As Secretary of State I will be relentless in my pursuit in the interests of Scotland. I will be out and about, criss-crossing the country. Travelling from north to south, to cities, towns and villages to meet businesses and voluntary groups, to visit workplaces and factories, to host round-tables and hold debates. I will listen, learn and act. I will passionately put the case for our current constitutional settlement. Ours is a great nation, with a proud history and a great future. I look forward to meeting you and talking to you – and most of all hearing from you. This is the first of what will be a regular blog."

Jim Murphy, like so many in so-called UK politics, you are a smug, exclusive and unscrupulous git with your hand in English pockets and a determination to make your fellow countrymen into even more of an elite than ever.

Health apartheid, the West Lothian Question, the Barnett Formula is not enough, is it? Like it or not, this is all about the UK being run primarily for the benefit of an elite - the people of Scotland.

Gordon Brown, "our" non-representative PM, may have appointed this man to try and shut Salmond's gob a bit. But from the sound of Jim Murphy's fairly constant flow of smug, exclusive Scots nationalist verbal diarrhea so far, Gordy may have picked a dud.

Jim Murphy - Scottish Secretary Of State - Snout In The Trough As Gordon Brown Honours His Pledge To Put Scotland First...

In recent years, the UK Government post of Scottish Secretary was cut down to part-time. Why should Scotland have a Secretary of State at all, some of us asked? 75% of legislation passed by the UK Government no longer affects Scotland, and England doesn't have a Secretary of State and NOBODY speaks for England as a nation - MPs supposedly representing English constituencies are too busy guzzling at the trough to speak up on issues like the West Lothian Question, the Barnett Formula, health apartheid, etc.

And now, not content with having its own parliament and part-time Secretary of State, Scotland has a full-time Secretary again - thanks of course to English revenue and Scots greed.

From the CEP News Blog:

Jim McMurphy, the new Secretary of State for Scotland, has got off to a flying start.

He apparently told Gordon McBrown that he would only take the job on the condition that it was full time and not combined with another cabinet position like it was with Des McBrowne. At a time when the British government has the least relevance to the people of Scotland as it has for over 300 years, appointing a full-time minister for Scotland is quite bizarre. Especially when taking into account that there is no Secretary of State for England and no England Office despite the British government having absolute control over England.

Gordon Brown, you really are honouring the 1989 Scottish Claim Of Right that you signed way back then, aren't you? You really are putting Scotland ahead of the rest of the UK in all you do?

And stick your snout in the trough, Jim Murphy - join the rest of the pigs!

Campaign For An English Parliament Press Release: Gordon Brown ready to sacrifice HBOS jobs in England to carry out his 1989 pledge to Scotland

Monday, 22 Sep 2008 08:49

'The real face of Gordon Brown has at last been exposed. As the financial crisis bites deeper and deeper and jobs are threatened in their thousands both in Scotland and England by the imminent Lloyds takeover of HBOS, his declared support for Britain has been shown to be very second place indeed. What really matters to Brown is not Britain but just one part of it. What matters to him is Scotland first and foremost. And if ever there has been a reason for England to have its own parliament which will defend its people, it is now.' That was the warning and the call issued to Campaign for an English Parliament members in Shropshire by Stuart Parr, member of the CEP National Council.

'The UK Prime Minister Mr Gordon Brown MP for Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath in Fifeshire is now carrying out the pledge he made on March 31sat 1989 when he signed the 'Scottish Claim of Right' drawn up by the Scottish Constitutional Convention together with 132 other Scottish MPs and MEPs including Michael Martin the Speaker of the House of Commons.'That Claim of Right read as follows: "We, gathered as the Scottish Constitutional Convention, do hereby acknowledge the sovereign right of the Scottish people to determine the form of Government best suited to their needs, and do hereby declare and pledge that in all our actions and deliberations their interests will be paramount".

'Gordon Brown has been the engine driving the Lloyds takover of HBOS,'' stated Mr Parr. 'No one can blame him for that. However, what the Times online has reported today is that page one of the formal takeover document promises that "the management focus is to keep jobs in Scotland; and there is no such reassurance about England". Not even about Halifax itself, the birthplace of the Halifax Building Society which employs thousands of English men and women. 'How little Brown cares for England! How else can anyone possibly explain that clause in the takeover document?' asked Mr Parr. 'And how unacceptable it is coming from the UK Prime Minister. The interests of just one of the nations that make up the UK should not be paramount to him, should not come first and foremost. Not even to a UK Prime Minister whose future will be decided by the bye-election soon to be held in the Glenrothes constituency next door to his own. Such narrow politiking should not enter into a takeover document of the immense UK-wide importance of the Lloyds-HBOS merger.

'Clearly England now needs its own Parliament, its own Government and its own First Minister to defend the legitimate interests of its people and restore balance to the Union. England simply cannot trust the UK Government as it stands. Britain is failing England'.

Campaign For An English Parliament Press Release: Hospital Parking Charges To Remain In England

The British Government is failing England - hospital parking charges are the latest example.

The Welsh Government has already abolished hospital parking charges. The Scottish Government announced yesterday Tuesday Sept 2nd that it will abolish them in Scotland. Both governments agree that these charges are not good for the health of patients because they put strain upon their families and friends and reduce visits. However, in response Mr Ben Bradshaw, British Minister for Health in England –he has no jurisdiction anywhere else in the UK- issued the statement that they will remain in England. Once again the British Government has failed England. Once again the British Government has shown that it considers England first and foremost purely as an employment park, purely as a place from which to extract government revenue.

‘I am appalled at the way the British government is treating our sick and elderly in England.,’ stated Mrs Della Petch CEP organiser in Yorkshire, in a message to all Yorkshire members,. ‘As well as free prescriptions, Wales and Scotland are abolishing hospital car parking charges and NI is to follow suit. But they will still stay in England.

‘The government says that Scotland and Wales now have their own national governments and can choose what to spend money on, but it doesn't take a genius to spend more money than the English are allowed. Funding is based on the Barnett Formula and on the very generous extra grants the British Government makes to the Scottish Parliament and the Welsh Assembly. Speaking in blunt language it comes down to this: whatever England gets, Scotland and Wales get more. Our Scottish Prime Minister Gordon Brown signed the Scottish Claim of Right in March 1989, in which he pledged ‘always to make Scotland's interests paramount in everything he did’. He is certainly carrying out that pledge.now.

‘Will someone please explain to us in England, why it is in Scotland's best interests for English cancer patients to die for lack of the most modern of cancer drugs made available in Scotland, and our elderly to go blind for lack of the latest eye medicine also available in Scotland? Where in the Labour manifesto does it say that Labour policies will be implemented to benefit Scotland and Wales more than England? Shame on England's MPs who do not rise up to protest at the unfair and unjust way the people of England are being treated. There’s not a spine between them. The British Government is failing England and our English MPs do nothing and say nothing’.
