This blog is not right wing or left wing. It is old style Socialist, true Socialist, and simply points out the facts regarding asymmetric national devolution, which is based on Edward Lhuyd's 1707 'Celtic' labelling of certain languages and historical revisionism, and how it disadvantages ALL people in the largest and most ethnically diverse UK country of all - England.

David Cameron - Brown Nosing His Beloved Scotland Again - And Leaving England Out In The Cold...
Not England, of course. Nope, we are "sour Little Englanders" - and the West Lothian Question, the Barnett Formula and health apartheid matter not. Better a deprived England, better dead English people on the so-called NHS, than a broken so-called Union.
If Cameron gets in it will be because Nulabour has been so foul, it will certainly be no endorsement of the man or his political morals.
God, how we dislike David Cameron...

Jade Goody - Unfair "NHS" Screening - England Suffers Again
But what she also did last week was to expose the inconsistencies in healthcare in the UK, which make a mockery of the NHS founding principle of equality. On the back of Jade's high-profile case, the sexual health charity Marie Stopes International called on the NHS to lower the age at which women are first offered a smear test to 20. This had been the age when they first began screening until 2003 when it was raised by NHS cancer screening services to 25, after research suggested a negative effect.
This was because experts said that in their early 20s, there was evidence that women had natural changes in their cervical cells, which could be mistaken for pre-cancerous changes. This would lead to unnecessary treatment, which can lead to complications in later life, including difficulties carrying a baby to term. But on closer examination, the debate that Jade has sparked is concerned with the NHS in England only, because the rest of the UK screens at the age of 20. Since devolution within the NHS, there have been numerous examples of inconsistency and unfairness.
Prescription charges, access to medication, waiting times, hospital parking charges; the NHS is no longer consistent across the nation. In a nationalised service, there is something fundamentally wrong if such discrepancies exist. There remains debate about the appropriate age at which screening should begin, with no consensus across other European countries. But it seems ludicrous that people who are served by the same institution receive different treatment based on where they live, when the very ideological underpinning of that institution is the abolition of inequity within healthcare.
Whatever the correct age is to begin screening, young women somewhere in the UK are being let down by the devolved NHS. Either it is those in England, who should be offered it at a younger age and are therefore being exposed to an increased risk of a potentially fatal disease. Or, it is those in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, who are risking unnecessary, invasive treatment that can result in them miscarrying in the future.
As we often parrot on this blog, it must be remembered that Scotland and Wales have democratic devolved governing bodies, and that England is ruled by the UK Parliament, headed by Gordon Brown, a man who represents a Scottish constituency and is therefore unaccountable to his constituents for around 75% of legislation his government passes - as they have their own parliament.
Aided and abetted by his Scottish Raj and MPs supposedly representing English constituencies, who spurn any recognition of England as a nation, Gordon Brown makes a mockery of democratic representation in England - and if you speak up, he and his cohorts are likely to accuse you of racism.
Whatever your background, WAKE UP to the abuse you are suffering as a citizen of England and the lies that are being spun, the smoke and mirrors employed by the UK Government and the Opposition parties, to keep intact the "UK", which now works against every man, woman and child resident in England. England is being broken up, regionalised out of existence - and we, the electorate across England, are the losers.

Gordon Brown Makes Pledge On Global Health INEQUALITIES, After CUTTING English Health Finance (But NOT Scottish And Welsh)
Hypocrite extraordinaire - Gordon Brown slashed the English NHS budget, but left the Scots and Welsh services untouched. Now he utters pious words about "global health inequalities".What about England?
-
Today's post links to the same Financial Times article as yesterday's.
It's necessary. Having ensured that Scots and Welsh lives are valued more highly than English lives, Gordon Brown has the unmitigated gall to make a statement on global health inequalities:
The Prime Minister said there could "no worse time" to put ambitions on hold for dealing with health inequalities and helping the poor.
Speaking at a central London conference organised by Health Secretary Alan Johnson, Mr Brown said some people would argue that the current period of global financial turbulence should mean ambitious plans are postponed.
"I believe there can be no worse time than this to turn back," he said.
"We will now successfully address the global problems we face only if we work together for global solutions."
He said that "president-elect Barack Obama is determined to play his part in addressing health inequalities around the world".
Mr Brown told delegates they were united in their belief that every child, man and woman, no matter what their birth or background, "should have the best chance of a healthy life".
But many countries lack the determination to address the world's problems on health, he said.
And this from a man who has created a system of health apartheid in the UK - where every man, woman and child in England is a second class citizen:
Gordon Brown quietly slashed by a third this year’s hospital building and equipment budget in one of his last acts as chancellor.
Prompted by the tightness of the public finances, the new prime minister, who has placed the NHS as his “immediate priority”, cut the capital budget of the English NHS for 2007-08 from £6.2bn to £4.2bn. The move could delay the government’s hospital building and reconfiguration programme in England.
However, Mr Brown avoided equivalent cuts to the Scottish and Welsh NHS budgets even though the funding formula for the UK nations suggests they should have shared the pain. That decision leaves him open to criticism that he favoured patients in his home country.
Does Gordon Brown think we have forgotten? Does he think that those of us in England who are struggling to pay prescriptions free to millionaires in Wales have forgotten? Does he think those of us dying in England for want of life prolonging medications available on the NHS in Scotland have forgotten?
Think again, Gordon Brown.

CAMPAIGN FOR AN ENGLISH PARLIAMENT: The benefits to Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland at ENGLAND'S expense just get bigger and bigger
It has been announced by the Scottish Executive that all Scotland's infant pupils are to get free school meals as from August 2010 costing between £30 and £40 million. The Review Committee set up by the Welsh Assembly is recommending that all Welsh university students pay only £1200 per annum in fees while England's pay £3000 (Scottish university students do not pay tuition fees as it is, not even when they are at English universities) and that Welsh students from poorer backgrounds should receive grants up to £6000pa. In Northern Ireland prescription charges, already scrapped in Wales and about to be scrapped in Scotland, will be scrapped in 2010.
The Scottish Executive has now come up with a demand for its own national high quality TV digital channel costing £75 million and asking for broadcasting powers independent of the BBC and responsible just to the Scottish Parliament. Scotland already has its own BBC Scotland, Wales its own BBC Wales, NI its own BBC NI and British citizens of Asian origin have their own Asian Network. England in contrast has no BBC England at all; and while all three countries have their representatives on the Board of BBC Trustees, England does not. All it has is a representative of 9 separate BBC English regions -just one for a population which amounts to 80% of the whole UK population.
Gordon Brown, the Scottish UK Prime Minister, has also appointed a new Secretary of State for Scotland with a seat in the UK Parliament. He is Jim Murphy MP for Rendrewshire. Wales and NI likewise both have a Secretary of State with seats in the Cabinet. England, however, has no Secretary of State, no one at all to represent its interests in the Cabinet..
Mr Brown has also set up the Calman Commission to investigate ways and means of improving what is on offer to Scotland since devolution and how to improve its processes. Lord Calman has already announced his commission will be considering providing more financial powers to the Scottish Parliament.
'The total situation beggars belief,' Mrs Scilla Cullen, CEP Chairman. 'It simply is impossible even to attempt to justify, let alone quantify, the degree of discrimination being imposed upon the people of England by the Union government. Just one statistical fact might show it for it is. Birmingham has the highest child poverty rate in the whole of the UK. That alone is enough to illustrate how utterly unfair it all is. One would think at least one English MP would rise up and demand justice and equality for England.'
End of Press Release.

Jim Murphy - Another Smug Scots Parasite - Feeding Off The English...
Jim Murphy: Scotland is a proud, historic nation... I'll do all I can for Scotland... I love Scotland... Scotland is the most wonderful place on earth... we Scots are so great I could wee myself, etc, etc...How do we afford all these MPs? And how come so many are for Scotland only? There's Scots over-representation at Westminster, MSPs, Euro MPs, and now a new full-time Scottish Secretary of State - the un-admirable Jim "Gob" Murphy. The admirable Secret Person points out that Scotland, on top of all this, also has a regional minister - like the ones forced on England to ensure our country's break-up by the Scottish Raj at Westminster.
So, we know that these Scots MPs are out to further Scotland's interests and couldn't give a hang about England or its people, and it's good that Jim Murphy should immediately reveal his Little Scotlander personality on his new blog:
"I will work with anyone who wants to advance our interests. In Europe I worked with centre-right and centre-left governments, with conservative and nationalist. I even enjoyed working with the Communist President of Cyprus. I know from experience the importance of building alliance to achieve real progress. But I will also vigorously oppose ideas and actions that will damage Scotland and her people. I love Scotland. I am passionate about its past and optimistic about its future. No political party has a monopoly on patriotism and I will challenge anyone who says otherwise. We have a great diversity in Scotland but we can all be united by the Saltire."
Not the Union Flag, rammed down our throats in England, you understand, but the saltire. Much as we admire the Scots Parliament's work on encouraging an inclusive non-Celtic-myth Scottishness, Jim Murphy, as a UK Minister, completely ignores the UK angle and makes it plain that Scotland is simply in it for what it can get out:
"As Secretary of State I will be relentless in my pursuit in the interests of Scotland. I will be out and about, criss-crossing the country. Travelling from north to south, to cities, towns and villages to meet businesses and voluntary groups, to visit workplaces and factories, to host round-tables and hold debates. I will listen, learn and act. I will passionately put the case for our current constitutional settlement. Ours is a great nation, with a proud history and a great future. I look forward to meeting you and talking to you – and most of all hearing from you. This is the first of what will be a regular blog."
Jim Murphy, like so many in so-called UK politics, you are a smug, exclusive and unscrupulous git with your hand in English pockets and a determination to make your fellow countrymen into even more of an elite than ever.
Health apartheid, the West Lothian Question, the Barnett Formula is not enough, is it? Like it or not, this is all about the UK being run primarily for the benefit of an elite - the people of Scotland.
Gordon Brown, "our" non-representative PM, may have appointed this man to try and shut Salmond's gob a bit. But from the sound of Jim Murphy's fairly constant flow of smug, exclusive Scots nationalist verbal diarrhea so far, Gordy may have picked a dud.

Campaign For An English Parliament Press Release: Hospital Parking Charges To Remain In England
The Welsh Government has already abolished hospital parking charges. The Scottish Government announced yesterday Tuesday Sept 2nd that it will abolish them in Scotland. Both governments agree that these charges are not good for the health of patients because they put strain upon their families and friends and reduce visits. However, in response Mr Ben Bradshaw, British Minister for Health in England –he has no jurisdiction anywhere else in the UK- issued the statement that they will remain in England. Once again the British Government has failed England. Once again the British Government has shown that it considers England first and foremost purely as an employment park, purely as a place from which to extract government revenue.
‘I am appalled at the way the British government is treating our sick and elderly in England.,’ stated Mrs Della Petch CEP organiser in Yorkshire, in a message to all Yorkshire members,. ‘As well as free prescriptions, Wales and Scotland are abolishing hospital car parking charges and NI is to follow suit. But they will still stay in England.
‘The government says that Scotland and Wales now have their own national governments and can choose what to spend money on, but it doesn't take a genius to spend more money than the English are allowed. Funding is based on the Barnett Formula and on the very generous extra grants the British Government makes to the Scottish Parliament and the Welsh Assembly. Speaking in blunt language it comes down to this: whatever England gets, Scotland and Wales get more. Our Scottish Prime Minister Gordon Brown signed the Scottish Claim of Right in March 1989, in which he pledged ‘always to make Scotland's interests paramount in everything he did’. He is certainly carrying out that pledge.now.
‘Will someone please explain to us in England, why it is in Scotland's best interests for English cancer patients to die for lack of the most modern of cancer drugs made available in Scotland, and our elderly to go blind for lack of the latest eye medicine also available in Scotland? Where in the Labour manifesto does it say that Labour policies will be implemented to benefit Scotland and Wales more than England? Shame on England's MPs who do not rise up to protest at the unfair and unjust way the people of England are being treated. There’s not a spine between them. The British Government is failing England and our English MPs do nothing and say nothing’.

CEP: Prescription Charges Blow A Huge Hole In The Very Idea Of A United Kingdom
What sort of Union has the United Kingdom become?
With the announcement from the Scottish Parliament that prescription charges will be reduced to £5 in Scotland and abolished altogether in 2011; and from the Union Parliament that they will be increased to £7.10p in England; while in Wales its Assembly has already made them free to all its population, the question has been asked yet again: What sort of Union is the United Kingdom?
'It is a Union in which the people of England are discriminated against at every turn when they look at what is happening in Scotland and Wales,' said Mrs Veronica Newman, Secretary of the Campaign for an English Parliament. 'And this is only one of an ever-increasing list of differences between the three countries which has come about since Scotland and Wales got devolution and we in England did not. What makes in unbelievably worse is the fact that the Union government makes it all possible for Scotland and Wales through taxation upon English tax payers. Every English tax payer pays £281 more tax per year to subsidise Scotland which does not collect in enough tax to pay its way. The unfairness and the discrimination is getting beyond belief'.'
Mrs Newman, who is also the organiser of the Campaign in the county of Wiltshire, raised the whole issue at a meeting of her branch members. 'Where are the 550 MPs who out of the 650 in the Union Parliament represent English constituencies?' she asked. 'Why don't they show concern for their English constituents who are being treated so unfairly? What are they elected by their English constituents for if not to stand up for them? Why do they keep silent and let this happen? All five ministers in the Department of Health: Alan Johnson, Dawn Primarolo, Ben Bradshaw, Ann Keen and Ivan Lewis are English MPs. Yet not one of them shows the slightest concern at this gross injustice. What are they in office as MPs and as ministers for? '
The Head of the CEP Media Unit has circulated a statement to all the membership in which he asks the question which everyone is now beginning to think about. 'Could it be the case that with a Scottish Prime Minister and a Scottish Chancellor of the Exchequer the Union finances are being used to benefit Scotland over England? After all,' he said, 'in 1989 both men signed the Scottish Claim of Right which expressly committed them to making the interests of Scotland paramount in everything they did as MPs. Only if England has its own parliament like Scotland has, can it stand up for just and fair treatment by the Union of the English people'
The Campaign is holding an Open Conference on 'The Future of England' at which these and related issues will be debated. It takes place in the Conway Hall, Red Lion Square, Holborn, London on Saturday April 26th from 10:30 to 4:30. Principle speakers are Frank Field MP, Simon Lee Department of Politics Hull University, Canon Kenyon Wright of the Scottish Constitutional Convention and Professor Hugo de Burgh of Westminster University. The conference is free to attend and open to the public.

David Marquand
Rubbish. The Scottish and Welsh nationalist movements are riddled with misconceptions of the past and Anglophobia.
The current set up is racist, pure and simple. The last time I checked (back in the days of the CRE) racism could be on grounds of nationality! Just think, people can die in England for want of medication available on the NHS in Scotland, the English public services and NHS are underfunded, other UK MPs foist legislation onto England, people in England scrape together money for prescriptions available free to millionaires in Wales.
It’s spite - some kind of “pay back” for perceived injustices in the past. These “injustices” are far from clear cut when closely examined. It’s simply that the perceived wrongs of “Britain” are heaped upon England.
There is no noble vision. It is a racist elite (the pure “Celt” thing is terrifying and inaccurate) ruling a “great unwashed”. That people cannot see the racist element in all this worries me intensely.
England must have its own parliament.
David Marquand is an arrogant racist, out to butter his own parsnips in seeking to ensure that the current undemocratic and corrupt system of governance is upheld.

England 2007
An England 2007 tweaking of a scene from the charming 1979 film, "Alien". Apologies to the squeamish. It was the best photograph of Gordon Brown I could find at short notice.I sometimes think the “Britain”/UK Government thing is like that scene from “Alien” - with the UK Government “thing” bursting from the stomach of England and killing it stone dead.

They Seek To Hide - Maternity Hospital Cuts and Other Bad News...
Maternity services are under strain like never before. Official figures show that the number of live births has increased by 12.5% since 2001. The number of midwives has increased by only 4.5% (18,048 in 2001 to 18,862 in 2006). The number of pregnant women having home births is only 2%. Yet on average across the country, the number of maternity beds per 100,000 head of population in England has been cut by 18% (1,898 beds) and still more maternity units are earmarked for closure.

Scot Gordon Brown Cuts Hospital Budgets In England, But Not Scotland Or Wales...
From The Financial Times:

By Chris Giles and Nicholas Timmins
Published: June 29
Gordon Brown quietly slashed by a third this year’s hospital building and equipment budget in one of his last acts as chancellor. And we all know that the first act of Gordon Brown as PM was to ensure that England had no chance of a national parliament by abolishing the country into tinpot regions, each with an attendent tinpot minister.
The UK Government is NOT an English Government. It does not act in the best interests of the electorate in England - in fact it wipes your country from the map and treats you as second class citizens. Whenever Gordon Brown talks of "nations of the UK" you know that he is referring to the nations of Scotland (his homeland), Wales and Northern Ireland. Whenever he refers to "regions" you know he is referring to the country he abolished, after absolutely no consultation with the electorate - the country once known as England.
Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Britain Day and Health Apartheid
We all know that, at the behest of the Scottish Raj, we now have a UK where you can be Scottish and British, Welsh and British or simply British. We know too that if you are simply British you will not be entitled to the same health care, democratic representation, public spending or esteem as those in Scotland and Wales.
We know too that Gordon Brown will be a completely unaccountable PM - elected in Scotland, his main power being in England. We know that all this "British" nonsense and refusal to encourage an inclusive civic English nationality is just so the "Celtic" Imperialists can continue to use and abuse England, muddying the waters as much as they can to achieve their aim, treating their own countries as elites.
It's not on.
"Our" Government is corrupt, self-serving, and doesn't give a stuff about democracy in England. Close your ears to the nonsense wittered by the likes of Ruth Kelly and Liam Byrne. They know full well what they are doing, and if you live in England that is certainly not trying to ensure that you have equality in the "UK".
Whatever your origins, colour or creed, sieze your right to be English and to live in a country where you are justly treated.
As Ruth Kelly and Liam Bryne spout their evil, self-serving waffle, children in England are to be denied medication available on the NHS in Scotland...
Around 10,000 people in the UK, mainly of black, Asian and Mediterranean origin, have sickle cell anaemia. Another 800 have the most dangerous form of thalassaemia, a similar disease. Sufferers of the two conditions must undergo regular blood transfusions. While the drug is available in Scotland, most patients in England are not able to get it because local NHS organisations are refusing to pay for a drug that costs £10,000-£15,000 for a year’s supply for a young person. Patients are enduring extra anguish as hospitals and local Primary Care Trusts (PCTs), which commission and pay for healthcare in England, row over who will foot the bill.

BBC CANCER WEEK LIES FOR THE UK
Alfie over at Waking Hereward has been monitoring the situation:
Today’s effort was from a special medical reporter broadcasting from a French hospital. Obviously, the French standard of cancer healthcare makes our efforts look feeble indeed. After interviewing lots of recovering patients, the hack donned his gravely concerned furrowed brow and informed a shocked UK audience that "Avastin, whilst available free to everyone in France is not available to any NHS patients in the UK because NICE have not approved it." Sorry ace medical reporter, but last time I looked, Scotland was part of the UK – I also believe they do actually have NHS patients…… and they are certainly receiving Avastin free of charge…

The BBC Lies To Cover Up Health Apartheid In The UK...
Meanwhile, the Times reports another cancer drug approved for Scotland only - http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/health/article1760242.ece
The BBC is a morally bankrupt organisation, dedicated to lies and attempts at brainwashing viewers and listeners in England into remaining accepting and quiescent as the UK Government turns the people of England into second class citizens. You have to pay for the BBC, whether you watch or listen or not, so they don't have to give a damn about you or truth.
When England gains a parliament and the voices of the people are heard, the BBC MUST be cleaned up and made good again - or scrapped.

If You Live In England, You Can Go Blind. But If You Live In Scotland...
From the Daily Mail...
Mr Strange, from North Walsham, Norfolk, has age-related macular degeneration (AMD), a condition which leads to the loss of central vision and, if left untreated, can lead to total blindness.
He has spent the money in the past year on the drug Avastin, which is available privately to those who can afford it, as are two other treatments for blindness, Lucentis and Macugen.
In England, the drugs watchdog the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence has not yet given the go-ahead for either Lucentis or Macugen, both of which could have helped Mr Strange. However Macugen is already available in Scotland.
It is one of several examples of the postcode lottery in services, with a number of drugs available in Scotland but not south of the border.

Too Poor To Be British...
"My parents were English. We were too poor to be British."
And in these days of the Barnett Formula, the West Lothian Question and non-representative MPs, to be English, meaning to be a resident of England, is to be a second rate UK citizen. You can DIE in England for want of medication available in Scotland on the NHS.
On 1 April 2007, Prescription Charges will be abolished in Wales. It doesn't matter if you are a multi-millionaire, you won't pay a penny. In England, on the same day, Prescription Charges will be raised. Oh, and by the way, England is subsidising better conditions in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland via the Barnett Formula.
It's as though the UK Government believes that you are inferior...
Isn't it funny how the English are blamed for...
The partitioning of Ireland - carried out under Welsh PM Lloyd George, with a Cabinet stuffed full of Scots!
The British Empire - Ireland and Wales were fully involved, and the Scots was proportionately more highly involved than the English!
British involvement in Iraq - sorry, but Tony Blair is of Scottish/Irish parentage, born and educated in Scotland.
Think of all the anti-English rantings you hear and read - look around you - the so-called "Celtic" elite are always accusing, always holding you to account for things that you as a modern-day resident of England had nothing to do with, always blaming the English for things that are actually their own fault.
England is always scapegoated, always expected to carry the guilt of Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
But awareness is spreading. Things are changing. England will have equality within the UK - or without it.

Celtgelt And Scotsmen On English Bank Notes...
Illustration Waking Hereward, 2007When you get one of the new Bank of England £20 notes with a picture of Scotsman Adam Smith on, write "Celtgelt" on it. What is "Celtgelt"? More about that in a moment, but first let's look at the idea of Scotsmen on English bank notes.
Is it Scotophobic to resent such a thing? Not at all. Scotland has its own bank notes, celebrates its own luminaries, it is inappropriate to also feature them on English notes. England is another country. Far more appropriate to feature modern-day English people representing ethnic minorities who have come here from abroad than people from a fellow Union country, only next door, which already has its own UK currency.
It also demonstrates the unhealthy hold that Scotland has over England. Scotland is a country of 5 million citizens. And yet its MPs dominate our parliament. Its non-representative MPs pervert democratic rule in England. Its citizens are heavily subsidised by us. You can actually DIE in England for want of medication available free on the NHS in Scotland.
The Scottish thing has become dangerous. Contrary to popular belief, England does not somehow deserve this treatment. Many of the past misdeeds attributed to us are actually more properly the fault of the Scots and Welsh. The partitioning of Ireland? Carried out by a Welsh PM with a cabinet stuffed full of Scots. The Empire? Well, whether you consider it good or bad, the Scots were disproportionately involved.
Whatever, the past is the past and England has contributed a tremendous amount of good things to the world. We do not need to carry guilt for the whole of the UK. We deserve equality.
Find out about CELTGELT at Waking Hereward here - http://wakinghereward.blogspot.com/2007/03/cash-for-lives-scandal.html.
UPDATE
Sylv from Salford
The Scots are everywhere. You wouldn't think it was a tiny nation of five million people, would you?
Their desire to colonise is as strong as in the days of Empire
Now, to puzzle the English and muddy the waters, they're planning to turn Liverpool into a "mini-region". No referendum. It's just to be forced through to ease the way for our non-representative PM in waiting Gordon Brown. Divide and rule. And the mini-region will simply be a piece of quango-ristic nonsense. It will be a talking shop. There will be bankhanders going on. Nice bits of corruption here and there. The electorate will be shat upon, as usual. Mark my words - it will in no way compare to the Scottish Parliament or Welsh Assembly.
It will not answer the West Lothian Question, Barnett Formula or health apartheid.
The Scots and Welsh will continue to rule and abuse England.
And now Scots are even cropping up on English bank notes, despite having their own. What's on Scottish bank notes? I'll bet it's not English people.
England MUST be set free!
