Look at the two statements below. Both are related to Gordon Brown. In the first, he is refusing to acknowledge the fact that England deserves parity with Scotland. In the second, he is signing up to a Scottish Bill of Rights, putting Scottish interests first.
“We will do nothing to put the union at risk” - Gordon Brown (2007)
“We, gathered as the Scottish Constitutional Convention, do hereby acknowledge the sovereign right of the Scottish people to determine the form of Government best suited to their needs, and do hereby declare and pledge that in all our actions and deliberations their interests shall be paramount”. - Signed by Gordon Brown (1989)
Dicatatorship for England and preferential treatment for his own country.
Thanks to the England Project for the inspiration and to Gareth at the CEP News Blog for tipping me the wink.
