After The Elections - Who Cares About England?

When you're struggling to make ends meet and paying prescription charges in England, knowing that millionaires don't pay them in Wales...

When you're facing the fact that your children must pay university top-up fees in England - thanks to MPs from other "UK" nations...

When you're sick of health apartheid, the democratic deficit, the Barnett Formula and the Scottish Raj ruling England...

Doesn't it make you tired to read stuff like this -
http://paullinford.blogspot.com/2007/05/ming-must-go-and-salmond-must-be.html from caring sharing Paul Linford ("After leaving Westminster in 2004 in search of a better quality of village life, I now live in glorious Derbyshire with my wife Gill and son George") who is still dreadfully concerned about the injustices wrought by Thatcherism on the disadvantaged in the 1980s, but apparently feels minimal concern for the injustices heaped upon the disadvantaged in England in the 21st Century.

Why are the Scots and the Union so BLOODY IMPORTANT?

UPDATE 2

Sylv from Salford...

Mr Linford is pretty typical: pay lip service to the concept of an English Parliament occasionally (hedging your bets, just in case), scapegoat the 1980s as the cause of all modern evils, ignore the fact that New Labour has done things that would not have been DREAMT OF back then, and that the party now bears no resemblance to Old Labour, and think yourself a pretty swell guy/guyess.

It's the way things are.

And these times are not changing.
