Having contacted our local GP surgery in Cambridge for an appointment, my wife was startled to be told that she would be seeing a "trainee". A trainee what?
Having attended, she came back thoroughly disgruntled having seen somebody with "the life experience of an amoeba and the humanity of a barracuda".
She wasn't impressed by his medical knowledge, either - and ended up insisting on treatment previously prescribed for her symptoms by the (qualified) GP she usually sees.
Who ARE these "trainees"? Are they actually qualified doctors?
I've seen one before - they have to spend a certain amount of time with proactive support by a GP and then some more time with reactive support before they can practice by themselves.
